The Westin Melbourne hotel is an oasis in the heart of the city's bustling Central Business District. Qualifications :

Department

The Finance department is responsible for the financial performance of the Hotel and is currently seeking an experienced Assistant Accountant to join its team.

Job Description

·  Manage the hotel accounts payable
·  Process and reconcile payments
·  Responsible for general cashiering functions
·  Ensure adherence to Marriott's Finance Policies
·  Assist and prepare documentation for internal and external audits
·  Prepare monthly accruals and month-end journals
·  Assist in preparation of P&L statement and A&L reconciliation
·  Assist in other areas in the department as required

Requirements

·  2-3 years' experience in a similar role in the hospitality industry
·  Accounting degree is required.
·  Solid knowledge of Opera and PeopleSoft Accounting system would be advantageous
·  Excellent time management & organisation skills are required to ensure deadlines are met
·  Possess advanced communication skills both written and verbal
·  Be pro-active in streamlining processes to create better efficiencies
·  Strong attention to detail, analytical and numerical skills are a must
·  Have the ability to work well with others
·  National police check certificate required
