Job Description

The Marriott Development Planning and Feasibility function in China focuses on providing competitive insights to support the decision-making process of various disciplines within the organization such as Development, Brand and Operations. Primarily, the team is responsible for producing in-depth market and economic evaluations of potential business opportunities for all Marriott lodging products in China to support the Company in achieving its expansion goals in new markets and long-range growth strategy.

Responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to, the following:

Hotel Underwriting

·
Prepare deal summaries and market study reports for project board approval

·
Compile competitors' facilities for new hotel projects

·
Prepare maps for project reports

·
Carry out desktop research on competitive market assessment

·
Brand Development

·
Translate English development marketing materials into Chinese

·
Support new brand launch in China by conducting competitive landscape research

·
Strategic Review & Research

·
Gather owner and hotel industry intelligence through desk-top research

·
Participate in and support projects related to development strategies

Desired Skills and Experience

·
Education:

·
Graduate from hotel school;

·
Major in hotel management and/or tourism.

·
Working Experience:

·
Internship experience in hotel consulting/operation areas; or

·
Previous working experience in hotel/real estate industry, including hotel development planning and feasibility.

·
Preferred Skills:

·
Strong command of English language is a must;

·
Strong Excel and financial modeling skills;

·
Strong PowerPoint, written and verbal presentation skills.

·
Proficiency in on-line mapping tools including Google and Baidu.
