Job description

JOB SUMMARY

Accounting Specialist is a key member of the Entity Accounting team, based in Marriott International’s Area Office in Bangkok, Thailand. This position is responsible for ensuring that the day-to-day accounting requirements of the above property entities in Thailand, Cambodia and Myanmar are met and assists Director, Entity Accounting and Senior Accounting Specialist to ensure that the relevant parties receive the appropriate levels of service.

SCOPE / BUSINESS CONTEXT / CANDIDATE PROFILE

Expected Contributions - primary job responsibilities

·  Preparing payment journals, receipt journals and general journals, and accurately recording into the accounting system
·  Ensuring the timely payment for Accounts Payable invoices 
·  Issuing invoices and following up outstanding when necessary
·  Ensuring accurately and timely recharges to related parties or participating properties 
·  Preparing monthly VAT and Withholding Tax reports and submitting to Revenue Department
·  Reconciling balance sheet items and analyzing the variances 
·  Reviewing/Auditing employees’ expense reimbursement reports per the company’s policies 
·  Coordinating with related stakeholders i.e. Bank, Customers, Vendors and internal requestors to solve day-to-day operational issues
·  Interacting with internal and external auditors, providing information and access to accounting records as required
·  Performing miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned by direct manager 

Candidate Qualification 

·  Bachelor's Degree in Accounting/Finance or related field
·  3-4 years working experience in general accounting area. 
·  Good command in written and spoken English and Thai
·  Excellent computer skills (MS Office, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, etc.) 
·  Experience in PeopleSoft accounting system would be an advantage
·  Able to work and converse efficiently with all levels of colleagues, clients and other external contacts
·  Able to adhere to tight and specific timeline and work under pressure
