Job Description:
Reporting to the Head of Pricing & Promotions, you’ll be responsible for designing and executing detailed analysis, synthesising and communicating key insights, and building the tools and reports that support the delivery and tracking of key strategic initiatives across Pricing & Promotions.
Key accountabilities and measures
· Support key strategic initiatives for the Food business across Pricing & Promotions, including Category Transformation, Promotional Planning and Price Investment
· Design and execute detailed analysis, bringing together and manipulating data from multiple sources and systems e.g. financial, transactional, store and customer
· Present insights and strategic recommendations to key stakeholders across the Food business
· Set-up, track and report impacts of key initiatives versus plan/budget
· Collaborate with teams across the business, including Trading, Finance, Space/Range, Supply Chain and IT to understand our current data and systems, identifying opportunities to restructure and/or streamline how we store, analyse and report information
· Form close working relationships with Trading teams to influence the development of a strategic approach to pricing and promotions
· Act as a consultant on pricing and promotions strategy to other functions, and be an ambassador for strategic analysis and data-led decision making across the business
Key skills
· Strong analytical toolkit and experience, including one or more of: Advanced Excel (e.g. logic, modelling, macros); coding and querying large data sets (SQL and/or Python); data manipulation and visualisation (e.g. PowerBI, Tableau)
· Clear and concise written communication (PowerPoint, Word, Email)
· Track record of structuring and analysing complex problems
· Excellent attention to detail and focus on quality/accuracy of output
· Ability to work collaboratively with multiple stakeholders
· Experience working within a commercial and fast-paced environment
· Experience working with financial, transactional and/or customer data
