Reporting into the Social Media Manager and working in tandem with the Assistant Social Media Manager, we’re looking for someone who’s ideas driven with meticulous attention to detail and experience working on a brand or corporate social media team.
We want someone who’s as comfortable writing snappy social copy and a creative brief for an agency as they are supporting on paid media strategy, implementing, tracking and booking a paid social campaign.

About the role
The Assistant Social Media Manager will split their time between supporting the Performance Marketing Manager on the implementation of paid social campaigns and strategy and working with the Social Media Manager and Assistant Social Media Manager on planning, delivery and creating social content across our seven channels.
Reporting, analytics & paid implementation
· Supporting the Social Media Manager and Performance Marketing Manager in strategy for social media reporting and setting KPIs, delivering key insights to the wider business on best social practice
· Responsible for implementation of paid social campaigns under strategic direction of Performance Marketing Manager
· Using available tools to measure and analyse performance of social media content and its impact on the business alongside Performance Marketing Manager
· Establish and manage relationship with M&S CIU working as the social liaison to gain information on customer trends, feedback and insight, identifying potential social opportunities and using information to create socially relevant content
Campaigns & content
· Supporting the Social Media Manager and Performance Marketing Manager in day-to-day management of agencies from briefing to optimisation
· Working with Performance Marketing Manager and Social Media Manager on the social content strategy and paid strategy for AYR campaigns i.e. Dine In proposition, including briefing creative asset and evaluation and reporting of performance
· End-to-end management of social content campaigns across paid advertising and content, including, but not limited to content planning, briefing, asset creation, media briefing, sign-off, delivery and post implementation review. To present on social campaigns, sharing leanings and recommendations with wider marketing team
· Acting as Social liaison with Plan A team, disseminating, implementing and owning paid strategy with the Performance Marketing Manager round Plan A messaging on social channels
· Acting as main liaison between core M&S Food Social Team and the M&S International Social Team sharing planning strategy.
· Support the Assistant Social Media Manager on scheduling content
· Support the Assistant Social Media Manager on writing post copy
Social team processes
· Own content projects and acting as main liaison between wider marketing team and content agencies on small events and seasonal campaigns
· Work with the Social Media Manager to implement new social listening tools to enable more efficient and accurate reporting techniques around our content and use those learning to create better, more focused content for our social audience
· Support with administrative duties relevant to the role as required
· Brainstorming with the team on seasonal campaigns and briefing the M&S Studio on asset creation for social channels
· Working closely with Customer Services’ Social team to ensure excellent levels of customer service are achieved thorough briefing processes, weekly calls and monthly calls
· Keeping a centralised social team playbook up to date (team processes, passwords and permissions etc.
About you
Across all disciplines, we anticipate the Assistant Social Media Manager to be knowledgeable in key areas of social media marketing in the fulfillment of their role:
· Paid media and targeting: Benchmark monitoring and implementation of key learnings for the various M&S audiences.
· Content and media formats : Develop excellent knowledge of what content works best for all channels including paid. Brief social specific assets to the digital designers.
· Creative briefs: Clear, accurate and insight led briefs.
· Planning : Demonstrate the ability to manage the social publishing calendar.
· Post Implementation Reports: Present back to the business the achievements of social and how the ladder up to the wider business objectives.
· Customer insights: Demonstrate integration of customer insight into social strategy for owned business units.
· Excellent writing skills.
