Purpose:
An opportunity has arisen for Trainee Paralegals to join our recoveries pre-litigation services team in our Leeds city centre office. The role is within a very fast paced environment, acting for large insurer clients. It involves running a high volume caseload of motor recovery, non-personal injury cases and is largely a front line telephone based service. You will be liaising with claimants and other parties to gather information about their motor recoveries claim in order to prepare for litigation; advising them and the insurer about the best legal action to take if any.
Duties/Responsibilities:
• Dealing with phone calls to and from clients and third parties to obtain information and assess prospects;
• Giving legal advice on prospects of a motor recoveries claim;
• Typing and sending letters to clients;
• Pursuing claims through pre-litigation stages, making full use of our case management system;
• Complying fully with agreed service standards;
• Dealing with administrative procedures as required.
Skills/Competencies required:
• Excellent communication skills and a good telephone manner;
• The ability to prioritise and organise your work;
• Working as a member of a team;
• Computer literate (working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Word);
• Effective numeracy & literacy skills;
Experience:
• Experience of working in a customer focused service environment is desirable but not essential;
• A genuine interest in law;
Education:
5 G.C.S.Es at grade C or above including English & Mathematics, or equivalent.
