Purpose:

We are looking for a Trainee Paralegal to join our Motor Recovery team based at our Edinburgh office.

Duties/Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will run a caseload of Recovery files consisting of non-litigated and litigated cases. This may include a mixture of RTA and property damage files. The role involves extensive communication with clients and third parties, using our in-house case management system to manage your caseload. You will need to work in a proactive manner to comply fully with agreed service level requirements.

Skills/Competencies required:

Desirable Experience:

• Experience of running own caseload;

• Experience of handling both litigated and non-litigated files;

• Experience of working in insurance;

• Experience of using a case management system.

Competencies:

• Enthusiastic and motivated for a career in litigation;

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills;

• A team player;

• Good time management and organisational skills;

• Excellent client care skills;

• Computer literate and able to do own typing;

• Ability to research and analyse legal issues.

Education required:

• Law degree/ Diploma in Legal Practice/ILEX or equivalent is desirable but full training will be provided
