Purpose:

We are looking for a number of customer focused individuals to join our expanding Legal Services Contact Team to be based in our Edinburgh office.

This is an excellent opportunity for an individual looking to gain legal industry experience.

The team's role is to be the first point of contact for our new clients to establish their needs in relation to their claim or query and inform them of legal processes.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Your initial responsibilities will include administration relating to new client files. This will include preparing the case for the initial part of the relevant legal process in readiness to be passed to a case handlers. You will quickly progress to making and taking calls with our new clients.

The role will then progress to additional responsibilities including: providing great client service by contacting new clients as soon as possible and gathering information required to assess their claim and assisting with their immediate needs. The role extends to a number of legal disciplines including civil litigation, personal injury and legal helpline.

Skills/Competencies required:

The successful candidate will have excellent communication and people skills, be diplomatic and empathetic. You will also be organised and able to prioritise; be able to work to targets and cope well under pressure. An excellent telephone manner is preferred.

Ideally you should be IT literate however; full legal and system training will be provided.

A law degree or equivalent would be beneficial, however this is not essential as we are looking for ambitious people with practical experience in client care.

Initially you will work a 35 hour week on weekly shifts between 8am and 8pm from Monday to Friday. This will develop in to a 35 hour week between Monday and Sunday. Shift availability ranges from starting at 8am to finishing at 9pm. Working hours at weekends would be 9am-4pm Saturdays and 10am - 4pm Sundays.
