Purpose:
We have an exciting opportunity for a Trainee Paralegal/Paralegal to join our busy Defendant Insurance Litigation team based in house within our insurer client at their offices in Folkestone.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Using our in-house case management system, the successful candidate will efficiently run a caseload of Defendant RTA cases including credit hire. You will need to work proactively to settle cases in accordance with the insurer clients’ SLAs and have the ability to communicate effectively with both lay and insurer clients as well as other members of the team. A key component of this role is to have the personality and confidence to provide ad hoc advice on an informal basis to our knowledgeable insurer client case handlers.
This position is suitable for those with experience working as a Paralegal or someone who is looking to take there first steps into a Defendant legal career. Please note the salary offered will be dependant on experience.
Skills/Competencies required:
-Law degree/LPC/CILEx or equivalent
-An ability to deal with all aspects of Defendant motor litigation
-Experience in running a Defendant or Claimant road traffic accident personal Injury caseload is desirable but not essential
-Excellent verbal and written communication skills, ability to deal with clients as well as other side solicitors. Excellent telephony skills are a must as you will be liaising with solicitors and clients on a daily basis
-The ability to work well under pressure and to tight deadlines
-Computer literate and able to do own typing
-A team player with the ability to integrate into the existing team by sharing your legal knowledge and taking on board your colleagues
-Good time management and organisational skills, ability to work to deadlines
-Experience of dealing with insurer clients is preferable
-Familiarity of using a case management system is preferable
