Responsibilities

The purpose of the Lilly Research Laboratories (LRL) Instructional Design Associate FDE (heretofore referred to as ID Associate) is to plan, design, develop, and update learning and performance support solutions that enable successful performance of LRL employees. The ID Associate is expected to deliver accurate, high-quality solutions within specified timelines and work with business partners, other L&D professionals, and various ID related technologies to achieve these ends. The ID Associate will utilize adult learning principles, performance consulting, and instructional design expertise to develop solutions that ensure personnel are qualified and capable of performing their job responsibilities, fulfilling compliance requirements, and continually increasing their contribution to the business.

Business Partnering

· Performance Consulting
· Build and leverage relationships with business partners to support business results
· Effectively partner with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), other business partners, and L&D personnel to identify performance gaps and recommend solutions
· Participate and/or lead business meetings to ensure development of effective learning and/or performance solutions
· Provide ID expertise, feedback, and guidance for SME/business created content to ensure adherence to adult learning and ID principles
· Learning Solution Analysis, Design, and Development
· Conduct needs, audience, and task analysis to identify content and performance gaps
· Design and develop innovative deliverables that provide meaningful and learner-centric solutions
· Apply effective project management to ensure timely delivery of the performance solution
· Effectively utilize technology to support development of learning solutions (e.g. IT tools, video technology, etc.) and ensure they can be integrated with Lilly systems
· Implementation
· Develop implementation plans for learning solutions in cooperation with other L&D employees and business partners
· Address change management issues
· Participate in the creation and distribution of communication plans pertaining to the learning solution(s) developed
· Conduct pilot and/or usability testing of performance solutions
· Help ensure appropriate follow-up activities occur
· Evaluation
· Participate in developing appropriate evaluation plans for learning solutions
· Develop evaluation tools or implement existing tools
· Analyze evaluation results
· Develop recommendations to modify learning solutions as appropriate
· Implement modifications

Department Development

· Coaching and Personal Development
· Establish a network of learning professionals
· Exchange feedback and coaching with learning colleagues
· Utilize and support the Performance Management (PM) process
· Departmental Operations
· Establish and/or ensure use of existing processes and tools for creating deliverables
· Communicate and track project status
· Evaluate and improve processes used for development and implementation of learning solutions

Additional Information

This position is not permanent. It is for a fixed duration of two years with potential to extend annually for up to 4 years.

Basic Qualifications

· Bachelor's Degree
· Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to be employed in the United States. Lilly does not anticipate providing sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H-1B or TN status) for this employment position.

Additional Skills/Preferences

· M.S. degree in Instructional Systems Technology, Performance Technology, or Adult Learning.
· Experience and expertise in instructional design and program/project management
· Demonstrated ability to effectively work in a collaborative environment and build trust with internal and external business partners
· Demonstrated ability in communication, conflict resolution, using good judgment, and managing complexity
· Demonstrated strong organizational skills
· Working knowledge of and/or experience in a regulated environment
· Demonstrated high learning agility to enable expedited business acumen
· Experience and expertise in content development software (e.g. Articulate Storyline, or other systems)
· Ability to effectively partner globally
· Ability to navigate complex, matrix-based organizations
· Some travel may be required
