Liebherr have been manufacturing cranes in their Killarney facility since 1958 and today Liebherr Container Cranes Ltd. designs, manufactures and installs a complete range of rail-mounted ship-to-shore cranes, container stacking cranes, rubber tyre gantry cranes and straddle carriers.Liebherr started manufacturing gantry container cranes and ship to shore cranes in 1967. In 1972, Liebherr Container Cranes Ltd. was formed and is now responsible within the Liebherr Group for the worldwide marketing, design, manufacture, delivery, erection and servicing of rail mounted quayside container cranes and container stacking cranes.

The Role

Reporting to the HR Team Leader the HR Generalist will drive positive change in the leadership and management of the people management agenda within business units across the site. The HR Generalist will share the responsibility for the goals and targets delivery of the people agenda.

The HR Generalist supports and advises line managers on day to day HR issues ensuring HR is seen as a key support and partner in the achievement of the business agenda. The role will support a HR Service Delivery culture throughout the business actively supporting discussion and knowledge transfer of best practice.

Person Profile

The HR Generalist is an experienced HR professional, with broad experience in various HR areas. The HR Generalist builds a valuable relationship with internal clients and transfers requests and solutions to/from the business units working together for delivery. The value add of the HR Generalist is in deep knowledge of the internal clients, key employees and business processes.

The ideal candidate is a self-starter whose flexible approach allows for multiple issues to be dealt with simultaneously. You are a highly motivated, dependable, performance driven decision-maker. You have excellent attention to detail and well developed reporting skills. You have a proven track record of delivering policy and procedures in line with best practice.

Key Elements of the Role

Responsibilities shall include, but are not limited to the following:

· Acts as a point of contact for the employees and managers in the business unit.
· Proactively provide support, advice, guidance on, and manage employee relations issues such as disciplinary and grievance, absence, performance management, and other key HR areas including attrition with the business unit.
· Proactively supports the delivery of HR Projects and Processes.
· Developing and updating human resource policies and procedures as necessary, ensuring compliance with relevant statutory legislation and industry best practice.
· Initiate, lead or participate in a broad range of projects and initiatives to support legal compliance and department/company development cross-functionally.
· Partake in the recruitment and selection process in line with business needs, continually looking to introduce improvements where possible.
· Actively identifies gaps, proposes and implements changes necessary to cover risks.
· Partner with line managers to drive employee engagement and management through coaching, influencing and sharing of knowledge.

Qualifications and Experience

· A third level qualification in a relevant discipline or equivalent.
· Minimum of 3 to 5 years’ experience required in a similar role within HR.
· Proven communication and relationship building ability.
· Commitment to delivering high standards with a positive, can do approach.
· Strong team player.
· Labour law knowledge.
· Strong organizational, planning, problem solving and reporting skills.
