Our world-leading software and database systems are used globally in the pharmaceutical, cosmetics, chemical, agrochemical and other sectors for the prediction of toxicity, metabolism and degradation. Our continued success means that we are constantly seeking additional people to work with us in our prestigious head office in the heart of Leeds.
What is the Role?
The opportunity now exists for a highly motivated graduate scientist to work with our data and knowledge teams to develop our metabolism database. Working in a small project team and reporting to one of our highly experienced scientists, interns will study papers from the literature, extract metabolic data from them and register the data electronically in a format prescribed by and using tools created by us.
Who are we looking for?
You will be a recent (or soon to be) graduate in chemical, biological or biomedical science or you may have the equivalent experience, and a working understanding of chemical structures and organic chemical reactions.
An awareness of the experimental methods used to study drug metabolism and disposition in vivo, both in pre-clinical animals and in the clinic in man would be desirable. Experience in the use of a chemical structure editor such as ChemDraw™ would also be an advantage.
You will be able to demonstrate good organisational, time-management and communication skills. Good attention to detail and a commitment to the delivery of high-quality work is expected.

Salary will be in the range of £22,113 - £28,000 p.a. plus benefits depending on qualifications and relevant experience. Lhasa provides a generous pension scheme together with 34 days personal holiday allowance plus statutory holidays (pro-rata) Internships will be for a period of six months in the first instance and a start date of 29 February 2016 is envisaged.
