Job description
You will be assisting in the running of our EFL summer school located at St Mary's University, Twickenham. You will assist the Office Manager and Centre Manager with their daily tasks to ensure the smooth and successful running of the busy school.
No two days are the same and you will face different challenges everyday.
Location: St Mary's University, Waldergrave Road, Twickenham, TW1 4SX
Line Manager: Summer Schools Office Manager, Summer Schools Centre Manager.
Expenses: Accommodation provided.
Proposed Hours of Work:
48 hours per week over a 5.5 day week.
What will you be doing?
Main Responsibilities and Tasks:
•Assisting the Office Manager in tasks concerned with the setting up, administration and closing down of the course office.
•Assisting the Office Manager in establishing systems for the managing of student pocket money, valuables, passports and flight tickets.
•Assisting in the depositing and withdrawing of student pocket monies, course fees, sale of merchandise and other transactions on a day to day basis.
•To assist the Office Manager in managing flight tickets, passports and damage deposits for up to 400 students.
•To assist the Office Manager in duties as required ensuring a high quality of administration.
•To assist the Office Manager in aspects of dealing with petty cash.
•To assist with the running and planning of on-site activities as advised by the Activity Manager.
•To assist with the running and planning of off-site excursions as advised by the Excursion Manager.
•To assist Activity Leaders in the smooth running of the leisure programme – both on and off site.
•To protect the property and equipment of the designated host school and LAL, maintaining security and avoiding loss and/or damage in the residences.
•To actively promote the welfare of LAL clients, including agents and students at all times.
•To address any student, International Group Leader or host site representatives issues, complaints or suggestions by ensuring that the relevant LAL staff are made aware.
•To act in a seemly and professional manner with all of LAL’s agents, clients and staff and not to engage in any activity which may bring LAL or the designated host school into disrepute.
•To dress in a manner commensurate with the roles demanded of the position; smart casual for the office. Any uniform supplied by LAL is to be returned at the end of the internship.
•Any additional duties as required by the business.

No specific qualifications required.
Experience is this area is desirable but not essential.
