Urban Decay is seeking a Social Media Assistant Manager to join our team in Newport Beach, CA.

POSITION PURPOSE

The main objective of the Social MediaAssistant Manager is to improve the penetration of Urban Decay Cosmetics online through active participation in social networking communities, and the management of our own website's editorial content under the supervision of the Social Media Manager.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

The Social Media Assistant Manager is responsible for ensuring that the Urban Decay name and products are favorably represented within the social media landscape. This will be achieved through the delivery of interaction with the public through dynamic content and timely, brand-right responses to customer questions.

·  Maintain daily activity of online communities by responding to basic inquiries in a timely manner. Uphold brand image by following guidelines for tone and customer service.
·  Maintain daily posting schedule for Facebook and Pinterest
·  Manage distribution of video content including uploading and tagging on Urban Decay channels and distributing to retailers and international teams
·  Serve as the point person for Snapchat including capturing content, measuring platform growth, updating geo-filters globally and maintaining a calendar for Snapchat takeovers
·  Create quantitative and qualitative reports for marketing team based on community and information.
·  Prepare and organize project assets for manager to carry out social media campaigns.
·  Coordinate with sales team to execute online promotion of in-store events.
·  Assist on pre-production of video and photo shoots.
·  Manage social media department's daily financial statements: POs, vendor invoices, etc.
·  Execute Facebook contests and sweepstakes.
·  Work with the Content manager to execute in-house photo shoots

SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY

The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of skills and abilities:

·  MUST have strong writing skills, as the community manager will serve as the voice of Urban Decay to the outside world.
·  Passion for social media and online communities. We need someone who lives online… who suffers withdrawals when they can't check their Facebook, Twitter, blog comments and iPhone.
·  Should be familiar with industry standards with regard to user interaction.
·  Knowledge of Web 2.0 trends a huge plus. Coordinator must have above average knowledge of general web functions: blog posts, video posts, take digital pictures and video, etc. General knowledge is fine – no formal tech background is necessary.
·  Strong project management skills with an emphasis on prioritization and multiple project organization.
·  Knowledge of trends, pop culture, some fashion and cosmetics.
·  Resourcefulness: in solving problems and in searching and seeking out relevant content and partners.
·  Determined to better the brand on a daily basis.

·  Light lifting (less than 25 pounds)

QUALIFICATION STANDARDS

Education/ Experience/ Licenses or Certifications

·  Four-year degree preferred.
·  Previous work in a similar position a plus, but not required.

Software

·  Standard MS Office applications.
·  Familiarity with Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and/or InDesign a plus.
