Shipping Lead - Day Shift Monday through Friday

We are seeking a Shipping Lead to work day shift hours Monday through Friday at our Portland, Oregon warehouse. This full time position is located at 11419 SE Foster Road Portland, OR 97266.

Position Summary

As a Warehouse Lead, you will be a role model for all others on the shift as you work alongside them and ensure that outgoing parcels are routed, processed and documented efficiently and accurately. You will mentor and train new employees and be the “right hand” to the Operations Supervisor. An excellent work ethic, keen eye for detail and strong people skills are a must!

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

·  Mentor and train new employees
·  Recommend improvements to gain efficiencies
·  Ensure that all packages are sorted correctly by carrier
·  Ensure that all manifest reports are completed at the end of the day
·  Audit outbound packages for weight limit/paper packing
·  Responsible for packing using proper DOT packages
·  Responsible for loading all pallets by carrier
·  Adheres to and appreciates all safety procedures and routines
·  Uses an RF scanner to process shipments
·  Prior experience using a warehouse management system required
·  Ensure that work area is kept clean and free of debris

Knowledge and Skills

·  Requires the ability to support a team to accomplish critical and timely objectives
·  Ability to handle numbers and basic math
·  Excellent work ethic a must
·  Excellent listening and communication skills
·  Ability to work effectively without direct supervision
·  Strong people skills and the ability to lead a team
·  Ability to stand for long periods of time
·  Must be able to keep up with a faced paced environment
·  Ability to lift and/or move up to 40 pounds
·  High school diploma.
·  Experience using an RF scanner desired
·  Attention to detail is a must – the customer must receive an accurate, damage free and properly labeled order
·  Two years of forklift experience using sit down and stand up forklifts.
