In the Photoprotection Applied Research team, we are responsible for developing the formulation platforms of tomorrow. New materials, new formulation strategies, and optimization of process are important tools we use to deliver core technologies that can be diversified into many new formulas. We work closely with upstream research, open innovation and external collaborators, experts in safety, regulatory, and scale-up teams, and a global network of experts in photoprotection formulation and characterization.
TheScientistin our Photoprotection team is able to devise creative strategies toward overcoming technical challenges in photoprotection. The individual should have a passion for science and formulation, strong work ethic, and good interpersonal skills. The job consists of preparing new formulations, planning and executing experimental plans, characterizing formulations and raw materials for performance, and interacting with internal research partners and external collaborators.
As a Scientist in our Photoprotection Applied Research Team, your main responsibilities are:
· Develop new and robust sun care formulation platforms and processes
· Show creativity, resourcefulness, and a strong grasp of the scientific method to overcome technical challenges and develop core formulation technologies in sun care
· Communicate effectively with collaborators and research partners to grow in knowledge and find solutions toward highly-challenging product and formula development.
· Grow knowledgeable about the fundamental science of formulation, sun care characterization, research and patent publications, and regulation.
· Have a passion for new products, textures, and technologies in consumer products – specifically in daily and beach sun care.
· Maintain a high standard of quality by keeping detailed records, organizing experimental data, and following closely formula stability and performance.
To Succeed In This Position, you have:
· A completed Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or related field (required)
· 1-3 years of industry, laboratory experience (required)
· Previous experience in Sun Care/SPF formulation and OTC Products is desirable
· Well organized and hard-working and a team-player skills.
· Knowledge and eagernesss to delve into emulsion theory, design, and processing.
· Good communication (verbal and written), interpersonal, and computer skills
· Displays scientific curiosity and passion for suncare
· A self-starter with a passion for the industry and ability to operate independently
· Authorization to work in the United States on a full-time, permanent, ongoing basis, without the need for legal sponsorship now or in the future (required)
