L'Oréal Travel Retail Americas- Senior Buyer

JOB PROFILE (Professional and technical competencies required)

L’Oréal Travel Retail Americas is looking for an energetic, self-driven individual to fill the role of Senior Buyer. Reporting to and taking day to day direction from Strategic Sourcing Manager, the Senior Buyer is responsible for the timely and effective execution of activities, procedures, reporting, and communication with respect to purchasing of indirect materials and/or services, playing a pivotal role in ensuring compliance with Group policies

Qualifications:

·  ·    Customer oriented, organized, accurate, team player, with a flexible and hands-on mindset
·  ·         Able to work well in complex high energy environments within an international (matrix) organization
·  ·         Track record for demonstrating leadership, autonomy, and the ability to think and act strategically
·  ·         Is knowledgeable and comfortable gathering and analyzing large amounts of data and presenting to all levels of the organization
·  ·         Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in Supply Chain, Operations Management, Procurement, or a related field
·  ·         2-4 years’ experience in indirect purchasing role
·  ·         Experienced in performing and executing RFI/RFP’s and or project management preferred
·  ·         Experience in FMCG Supply Chain, Luxury Brands, and/or Travel Retail channel are a plus
·  ·         Excellent written and verbal communication skills with fluency in English & Spanish
·  ·         Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite products

The candidate participates in the proposal of initiatives to improve costs, quality & agility, reduce risks, and promote innovation. Their mission covers all aspects of the following operations:

·  ·         Understands & anticipates the needs and expectations of the company and its stakeholders through ongoing collaboration and formal/informal meetings
·  ·         Supports and manages its network of stakeholders, guides and advises it, and builds and develops the "One Voice" of sourcing
·  ·         Identifies market and consumer needs upstream, and understands stakeholder expectations in a cross-category vision
·  ·         Receives and challenge briefs, bringing value and expertise based on the deep knowledge of the suppliers and the strategies set by category
·  ·         Influences category strategy by actively sharing stakeholders’ perspective and expectations with the category teams
·  ·         Optimizes supplier portfolio and defines the purchasing strategy by spend category
·  ·         Develops category benchmarks, driving in market change in collaboration with category teams
·  ·         Leads the quotation request process, negotiating, and awarding suppliers according to the performance pillars
·  ·         Drives price requests based on validated briefs and effectively monitors project performance to ensure cost, quality, on-time delivery, and service level
·  ·         Leverages calls for tender in connection with the sourcing team and in compliance with the defined thresholds and processes
·  ·         Contributes to the formal evaluation of suppliers based on their overall performance in the areas of price, quality, innovation, service, and sustainability
·  ·         Enables and ensures full organizational and supplier compliance with internal control and ethical way of working
·  ·         Monitors and enforces the contracts and commercial agreements negotiated with each supplier in conjunction with legal and sourcing team
·  ·         Supports internal stakeholders change management and training following the implementation of new solutions, tools, and ways of working in conjunction with the sourcing team
·  ·         Challenges, consolidates, and maintains the Preferred Suppliers List and its respective data sets
·  ·         Participates in the trend and budget process by identifying potential savings and initiatives
·  ·         Monitors the materialization of savings during through follow-up with business partners on the implementation of initiatives or deployment projects
·  ·         Masters the tools (MySourcing, Cosmic, My Market, etc.) and ensure the accuracy and timeliness of all system data
·  ·         Provides toolkits / methodologies / catalogs in line with the defined strategy, systems, and tools
·  ·         Actively contributes to the objectives of the L'Oréal for the Future program
