Job description
Key Responsibilities:
The Engineer reports to the Head of the Science of Industrial Processes (SPI) department, at the heart of a Packaging Innovation entity, implemented within the General Operations Department.
The Engineerhasa key activity,contributing totheInnovationprocess,withinthe SPI department. Witha rigorous scientific approach,he or shesupplies and designs the manufacturing processes that will make the future of the Group's factories. SPI's roadmap is connected to thewholeL'OREAL Group's global challenges for 2030.
The Engineerexperiments andcontributesto aproject mode, among a team of other engineers,upto the implementation of innovative production processes to be industrialized on a large scale. Depending on the project, all cosmetics businesses can be approached alloverthe Group's Divisions. He or she will naturally be connected to all relevant internal and external contacts on alocal or worldwidescale.
Its main missions are:
Research, select and develop innovative technologies and/or means of production on a global scale, according to our established roadmaps and oriented towards the challenges of industry & productperformance,sensoriality&consumerexperienceand new green processes challenges
Promote these proposals in partnership with formula design teams (R&I) to co-construct development programs according to the industrial prism. The approach is also being developed in co-construction with the Innovation Packaging, Global Excellence,pilotsand Group factories teams.
Manage in consultation with the Group's interlocutors (R&I teams, pilots, factories, global excellence, DO, DT) the smooth running of production process innovation projects, by experimenting with new unit operations and gradually scaling up
Promote a scientific approach for the establishment of experimental plans, analysis of products and associated data
Ensure compliance with methods and best practices in project management (control of deadlines and deliverables, compliance with EHS, Q and performance processes, consumer evaluation, managerial) with the values of the SIMPLICTY program,
Feed the programs presented at the PIPE
Ensure the consistency of road maps with the other actors in the innovation process (R&I teams, pilots, factories, DO, DT, etc.)
Ensure the promotion of ideas,new goodpractices, successes and share feedback with all actors in the innovation process
Train and support the actors of the factory / pilots for the first industrial productions
Communicate effectively to bring projects to the right bodies (R&I, Brands, Innovation teams, Divisions, Pilots, factories...), at the right time, to support launches while enhancing the team
Ensure regular reporting of its activity
Technical and professional skills required:
Preferredinitial training in the field of Process Engineering / Chemical Engineering / Food Industries or equivalent with knowledge in the field ofphysicochemistryor formulation engineering
Knowledge of industrial production techniques,l’OREAL, othercosmetics and other related sectors such as food, pharma, chemistry, etc.
Knowledge of project management methods (5S, PDCA, DMAIC, Problem Solving,….)
Operation focused on agility, flexibility
Language requirement : Fluent in English and business level in Japanese
Quality of coach: good interpersonal skills, communication, ability to train teams, close to the field...
