The supply of gas involves local production in order to limit transport costs. Therefore, Air Liquide gas production units are located throughout the world and can supply many types of customers and industries with the relevant volumes and services required. Air Liquide’s structure is made up of a base, in Paris, and four hubs: Americas, Europe, Asia Pacific and Middle East and Africa. These hubs draw on the Group’s expertise and presence in these geographic regions.

Industrial Merchant, a branch of the Air Liquide’s activities, supplies a wide range of different gases, application equipment and associated services. It serves industries of all sizes that require quantities smaller than those for customers of Large Industries. The product is either distributed in bulk, in liquid form, for medium and large quantities, or in cylinders, in gaseous form, for small quantities.

In this context, the UK Engineering department is looking for a VIE to design and implement the internal processes for engineering projects, focusing on the Customer Installations segment to deploy the Group’s customer-centric transformation strategy.

In this context, the VIE will be responsible of:

- documenting the current process
- working on standardisation of Customer Installations
- add stream value by using lean management techniques
- designing a new process fully compliant with the Group Industrial Management System
- defining interfaces with other functions / departments (sales, procurement, finance, asset management, etc.)
- selecting / developing / creating the right IT tools

Ideally a candidate with the following background:
- engineering
- projects
- basics of pressure system and thermodynamics
- IT

- Proactive
- Self starter
- able to communicate with colleagues and stakeholders at all levels
- Flexibility and adaptability to switch between Design mode and Project mode if needed

The position is required in Coleshill (Birmingham) and might involve occasional travels to other locations (clients, headquarter in Birmingham, etc.)
