Background/Purpose

KPMG’s professional indemnity insurance (PII) arrangements are administered through locations in London and New York. Due to an internal transfer, an opportunity has arisen to join the PII team based in London. The vacancy offers the chance to work with an experienced team of individuals drawn from a variety of different professional and technical backgrounds in a multi-disciplinary

The Role

The role is primarily to assist the London-based Practice Protection team in the handling of claims, potential claims and complaints from the Ex-Americas geographic region (predominantly the United Kingdom), providing support to the PII team and the PII partner. The applicant will also have the opportunity to work with the wider Office of General Counsel (OGC) and Global PII teams based in Canary Wharf, London.

Responsibilities will include:

- Maintenance and development of the claims management system (Idapt), including input and analysis of new matters/liaison with OGC Directors (who triage the cases), updating records for developments reserves and payments made, dealing with queries from other members of the team, and provision of reports and analyses on data trends as appropriate;
- Monitoring the Practice Protection inbox to ensure all new UK matters are notified through to the OGC team;
- Working with the PII team on the preparation and turnaround of quarterly reports to insurers;
- Legal Hold administration, including providing our external Records Management partner with all codes/names needing protection;
- Maintaining the KPI Watch list and Search terms list for document retention
- Ensure all draft invoices are saved, approved, filled correctly and payments made (and dealing with suppliers directly as necessary)
- Instructing Accounts Payable to make settlement payments
- Assisting with the Annual Declaration process
- Provision of support to case managers in relation to the handling of claims as required.

The Person

- Good analytical skills – the ability to analyse data, produce reports on statistical trends, address specific information requests etc;
- The ability to work independently, be proactive in the interpretation of data, developing statistical reports and researching information;
- A high level of attention to detail and excellent memory retention skills are essential;
- Strong written and oral communication skills – able to deal confidently with people at all levels including those based overseas whose first language is not English;
- Tact and diplomacy are essential attributes given the need to handle sensitive and confidential information;
- Sound organisational skills and ability to prioritise in an effective and efficient manner;
- Good Excel, Word and PowerPoint skills operating in a Windows environment.

Training

Both formal and ad hoc training will be provided as necessary (in particular in relation to professional indemnity insurance)
