The Collaboration and Knowledge (C&K) department works across the four key functions of KPMG (Audit, Tax, Advisory and Global Sales & Markets) to provide collaboration and knowledge programs and products that enable KPMG employees to turn knowledge into value for KPMG and our clients.
The operating model for the C&K department connects four functionally aligned C&K teams with four 'Global Programme' teams. The eight teams report to the Global Head of C&K and work collaboratively to deliver an integrated C&K service.
The role of a GC&K Business Analyst is to manage the planning and delivery of projects within the GC&K programme. This will include developing and executing the project plan, tracking and reporting project progress and taking action to balance project scope, schedule, budget, quality, and risk to deliver projects successfully.
Key Accountabilities
· Works with project teams as a business analyst - eliciting, defining, analyzing and documenting requirements to ensure solutions effectively meet the specified business needs.
· Plan, manage and deliver multiple platform/ knowledge projects of varying duration for the GC&K organization.
· Liaise with the C&K leads, Business Analyst Lead and project resources on and offshore to understand the business processes and requirements relevant to each project in order to drive a successful outcome.
· Lead project activities, including defining scope, milestones, and deliverables in order to translate desired business benefits into clear and achievable project objectives.
· Develop, control and maintain documents required as designated by the C&K PMO
· Oversee communications to relevant stakeholders
· Determine the project costs, approach, staffing, responsibilities, and schedule.
· Manage and maintain the project budget, as appropriate.
· Measure and monitor progress at clearly defined points in the process to ensure that the project is delivered on time, within budget, and that it meets or exceeds expectations.
· Report progress to the Business Analyst Lead and external stakeholders as required.
· Proactively manage and address project risks and issues, escalating high priority issues and risks to the Business Analyst Lead with suggested solutions.
· Review and manage all changes to project requirements through formally defined scope change process.
· Balance scope, schedule, budget, quality and risks, making ongoing adjustments as necessary.
· Liaise with GC&K sister (e.g. L&D) and support (e.g. offshore PMO) teams and the wider GC&K and business stakeholders to deliver the project according to the agreed design, plan and technology standards.
· Obtain buy-in from the GC&K leadership for all key project plans, commitments, and changes including requirements, quality assurance plans, budget, schedule, and scope changes.
· Participate in quality management reviews.
· Liaise with the other teams as appropriate to ensure business and support readiness and effective transition for deployment of new or changed services.
· Ensure all project documentation is of a high quality and is stored in the assigned accessible repository.
· Ensure projects are managed using appropriate methodologies, processes and tools as defined by the Business Analyst Lead.
· Follow up proactively on outstanding inputs from other teams/ team members. At times, business needs arise and employees are required and agree to work beyond their normal work day or work week to fulfill the accountabilities required for their job. Likewise, people need time to devote to personal matters, and our approach to flexibility provides for this.
Skills & Qualifications
· Educated to graduate level. Post graduate qualification in an information science and/or business qualification preferred but not essential.
· Significant experience in project management for Collaboration & Knowledge programs and projects.
· Strong project delivery experience across large scale, complex, matrixed organizations.
· Experience of budget planning and management.
· Experience in stakeholder management.
· Strong influencing and stakeholder management skills. The candidate should have existing (or be able to quickly establish) strong relationships with stakeholder individuals and groups at all levels across KPMG.
· Proven program and project management experience.
· Strong process oriented knowledge and experience.
