Job Description

We are currently seeking multiple Managers to join our US tax practice in our London, UK office.

KPMG London US tax team is a rapidly expanding team of three US tax partners supported by more than 25 US tax professionals. The US tax team in London is well placed to provide US tax advice and compliance services to clients based in Europe and the Middle East with US investments and/or US investors. Working on KPMG’s US tax team in London will provide individuals with US tax experience and a unique opportunity to live and work in London. KPMG is seeking motivated and enthusiastic top performing individuals to join their growing team in London.

Responsibilities


-

Manage relationships with specific client employees and their expectations about the engagement

-

Provide direction and training to staff, managed assigned staff, and make certain that resources are utilized appropriately while providing direction as necessary

-

Participate in office practice decisions including resource allocation, career development of staff and risk

-

Provide assistance with detailed tax research and support on existing tax advisory engagements.

Interact daily with colleagues and clients on a variety of issues that require a strong fundamental understanding of US tax law principles such as the tax classification of foreign entities, tax form validity, information reporting requirements, the classification of financial products, M&A queries, provisions of double tax treaties, etc.

Act as a client-facing tax Manager with experience in providing advice on international and transactional tax matters

Lead tax training events and provide marketing support with respect to changes in tax law

Supervise and aid in the development and training of new and experienced staff professionals

Qualifications


-

Five plus years of experience in US corporate and/or partnership tax and a desire to gain US international taxation experience

-

Bachelor's degree, J.D., LL.M. in Taxation, and/or Master's in Taxation (MST) from an accredited college/university

Skills and Requirements:

The successful candidate must have:

Previous experience reviewing US corporate and/or partnership tax returns for a variety of corporate and partnership clients.
Ability to handle multiple engagements and client service teams and demonstrated ability engaging with clients in an advisory capacity.

Strong client management skills and has demonstrated the ability to gain the confidence of the client to deliver complex projects on a timely basis and address tax technical issues

-

Demonstrates the ability to interface with clients and communicate complex tax matters to client in a manner client can understand

-

A strong understanding of the financial services sector would be highly valued

-

Significant experience in tax advisory matters

-

Significant experience in the application of the U.S. withholding tax rules (in particular FATCA) is required.

The ability to multi-task and work effectively under pressure in a rapidly changing environment in order to meet deadlines.

Strong written and verbal communication skills, solid research skills, and the ability to work well in a team environment and/or independently
