Job Description

Responsible for recruitment for KPMG Apprenticeship Programmes, the Assistant Manager role plays a key part in a team that is dedicated to ensuring KPMG’s student recruitment programmes have a strong profile at target schools and that its recruitment process is leading within its industry. The Assistant Manager will ensure that they and their team provide an efficient, high quality, client focused service for applicants and the business alike, throughout the recruitment process across a range of apprenticeship programmes.

Operations

- Build effective and long term links within the Student Recruitment management team and with the business/programme leads
- Monitor and oversee effective and efficient management of candidate pipelines for Apprenticeship programmes to ensure that quality standards are met and consistently delivered
- Review and monitor pipeline performance and work with Officers to agree relevant actions and predict outcomes in order to meet target numbers
- Provide regular and robust MI and reporting
- Liaise with Managers to ensure all business stakeholders are kept informed of recruitment numbers
- Oversee management of recruitment events
- Manage Assessment Centres for relevant candidate pipelines
- Management of offer process post Assessment Centres
- Effective resource allocation within the team

Attraction and Outreach

- Support in the planning and reviewing to oversee the delivery of activity throughout the year in target schools to ensure we meet our outreach aims (with particular focus on diversity and social mobility)
- Partner with stakeholders within the Recruitment Marketing team and across all business units to build strong relationships and manage outreach campaigns to meet requirements effectively. This will include reporting and knowledge-sharing
- Managing relationships with external partnerships to support Outreach activity
- Ensure regular and robust monitoring and reporting is in place for all activity. This will include measuring ROI through application conversions and feedback from students, teachers and volunteers
- Train and develop team on effective outreach delivery
- Plan resource for schools events and ensure team are implementing as designed
- Managing budget for Apprenticeship activity

Leadership

- Line management and development responsibility for an Officer and Coordinator. This will also include working with Officers and Coordinators outside of direct team across the country to ensure the successful implementation of relevant recruitment projects nationally

The Person

- Substantial experience in the student recruitment marketplace with strong understanding of how to plan, develop and deliver outreach campaigns, selection and assessment processes
- Experience in line management
- Proven track record of developing strong relationships with key stakeholders
- Drive and commitment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and a confident presenter
- Strategic and analytical thinker
- Good IT skills including Excel, Power Point, databases and internet research
- Excellent organisation and time management skills with a keen eye for detail
- Flexibility to work within a fast paced environment
- Forward thinking and proactive approach
- Self-motivated to work autonomously and also a good team player with the ability to adapt to change quickly and positively
Whilst this role is office based, you will be required to travel to KPMG offices and some events around the country – this will require overnight stays during campaign time and on an ad-hoc basis throughout the year. Intelligent working requests will be considered and some flexibility is likely to be possible. However, it should be noted that demands of the role include cover on most days; and some travel around the UK with irregular hours particularly during campaign time.
