Job Description

The Role


The Product Owner will work as part of our Tax Centre of Excellence Technology team. The role will be to support our tax delivery experts in designing technology to increase our process efficiency. The PO will serve the product development team as the customer proxy and will review and contribute to the product vision and roadmap maintained by the wider product management team. You will work with our team of tax experts to ensure all business and software requirements are gathered, organised and understood. In addition you will be the line manager for a team of analysts responsible for the running of our Robotics, Data Analytics and Document Production platforms.

Roles and Responsibilities

- Communicate and meet with internal and external stakeholders to translate the business vision and needs of stakeholders into actionable user stories.
- Work with project managers and technical leads to determine scope and priorities for product development cycles
- Collaborate with development teams to ensure that they understand the vision for the product and adhere to delivery timelines
- Running steering/working group sessions with stakeholders
- Analysis of business benefits realisation
- Explain complex processes to the tax teams in a simple, easy to understand way
- Manage development budget and manage budget requests for future development pipeline
- Translate complex user experiences into software requirements
- Be responsible for Document Production and Data Analytics platform and oversee implementation of specific business use cases by analyst team.

The Person


Experience and Background

- Passionate about delivering excellent products
- Excellent verbal and written communication
- Requirements engineering and documentation
- Experience working on multiple scrum projects
- Knowledge of agile methodologies
- Experience using QlikSense/QlikView or similar business intelligence tools (desirable)
- Experience using SQL (desirable)
- Experience managing .Net web application development
- Experience implementing technology for a shared services centre.
- Strong academic track record in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, or similar, relevant course (desirable)
- At least 5 years in a product development environment, including 2-3 years as a Product Owner or Business Analyst with state-of-the-art software systems
