Working in the team will mean getting involved in a broad range of projects, i.e. Fraud investigations, and tracing assets.

Overview

KPMG Risk Consulting practice proactively helps clients increase profits whilst reducing reputational, operational, financial and other risks. We are experienced in managing diverse issues including fraud, regulatory compliance, risk frameworks and dispute resolution. This role is within for our Forensic Financial Services team which specialises in managing Financial Crime risks and working alongside our colleagues in KPMG Managed Services.

KPMG Managed Services provide an innovative and cost effective solution to the delivery of large scale reviews and/or processing activity across multiple industries, geographies and processes. KPMG Managed Services practice is experienced in, but not limited to, remediations, complaint handling, claims processing, service delivery and conducting risk reviews. It brings together KPMG subject matter expertise, highly skilled operational resource (production team) and, where required, proprietary technology assets, providing clients with a single joined-up and streamlined approach.

Role Purpose

The SME is required to utilise knowledge and expertise in order to support completion of client KYC files (remediation or periodic reviews) in line with client KYC policies and procedures. They are responsible for completing Quality Assurance (QA) reviews and accreditation of the production team. They will provide SME support to the production team, as required, to ensure cases are completed in line with regulatory standard and to client KYC policies and procedures. SME will support the KYC SME Lead in all knowledge management activities (e.g. alert drafting, policy clarification, case clinic input, PKTs, huddles, appeals, etc) and as directed by the KYC SME Lead to ensure that the SME strategy is executed effectively and delivers quality SLA agreed with the client.

Deliverables

- QA reviews of completed KYC (Know Your Customer) files
- Provide feedback to production team clearly and succinctly
- Provide ongoing and ad hoc SME guidance and support to production team
- Review and assessment of client KYC related policies and identify areas of improvement in terms of consistency and clear and unambiguous interpretation
- Deliver policy training, as required
- Update relevant MI timely and accurately to ensure that KPI can be reported quickly and efficiently and MI is error free
- Support KYC SME Lead in knowledge management activities (e.g. alert drafting, policy clarification, case clinic input, PKTs, huddles, appeals, etc), as requested
- Assist KYC SME Lead with ad hoc activities (e.g. client reporting, client responses, etc), as requested
- Conduct root cause analysis of KYC knowledge gaps within production team and propose action plans of how to close them
- Review and constructively challenge internal operational processes to drive continuous improvement
- Build constructive and collaborative working relationships with teams on and off shore
- Drive consistent approach to case completions and quality across on and offshore teams and input into ideas how to drive cross-jurisdictional consistency
- Deputise for the KYC SME Lead during his/hers absence
- Maintain awareness of regulatory risk landscape and use this awareness to flag issues of importance to the KYC SME Lead

Essential Experience

- Understanding of KYC, AML (Anti Money Laundering), Sanctions, and Financial Crime (FC) Fundamentals with a minimum of three years’ experience of working in an FCA regulated environment
- Minimum of one year experience of working in an operational environment
- Good working knowledge of FC guidance, industry best practice and relevant regulation
- Ability to use analytical and problem solving skills on technically challenging cases
- Ability to communicate effectively in a concise and technically accurate manner, and to articulate complex messages in both written and verbal communication in a clear way
- Proven experience of working in a role where attention to detail is critical
- Ability to work successfully in a target driven environment
- Ability to deliver training and facilitate technical discussions

Desirable Experience

- Experience in working in Quality Control (QC) function
- Application of systems based KYC platforms and portals

- Confidence to be able to quickly establish credibility with production teams
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills that can be tailored to a variety of audiences
- Proven ability to work with diverse teams drawn from various parts of KPMG and backgrounds
