KPMG is currently seeking an Information Protection/Security, Confidentiality and Privacy Attorney to join our Office of General Counsel.

Responsibilities:

·  Responsible for advising on and enhancing the firm’s evolving confidentiality, information protection/security and privacy compliance strategy as well as driving awareness, including developing and delivering training
·  Provide legal counsel in connection with the firm’s compliance framework, policies and practices; direct functional and innovation teams on confidentiality, privacy and information security implications for new tools, products and features
·  Review collection, use and transfer of user data and draft privacy policies and disclosures; advise on information and records management, including alignment with confidentiality, privacy and security policies
·  Advise on potential business impact of proposed changes to U.S. and international information protection/security and privacy laws and regulations
·  Assist in reviewing and negotiating information protection/security provisions in client and vendor agreements, including technology license agreements
·  Lead information incident response preparedness, including continual enhancement of the firm’s information and cyber-incident response plans

Qualifications:

·  JD or LLM from an accredited law school, and licensed to practice law in the U.S
·  Ten years of experience preferably in a corporate/professional services firm’s legal department, with substantial focus on compliance with professional standards governing confidentiality of client information, information protection, information security, and privacy
·  Experience building and/or leading a corporate/professional services firm program focused on confidentiality, information protection/security and privacy issues
·  Demonstrated collaboration skills, including building strong business partnerships, achieving results and effectively managing and developing a team
·  Significant knowledge of and experience analyzing and advising on information protection and security laws (e.g., NIST CSF and NIST 880-171) and US/global privacy laws. Certified Information System Security Professional strongly preferred; Technical/systems background and Certified Information Privacy Professional a plus
