KPMG’s Marketing function is a vital part of the firm’s business, instigating and managing end-to-end marketing programmes, deploying premium content to build the Firm’s brand reputation in the wider market and building relationships with clients at boardroom level which result in profitable revenue.
Business events and corporate hospitality are key components of the marketing function. Contributing to the client relationship management programme, helping to establish and develop relationships with key clients and targets to ensure a consistent KPMG experience. KPMG has a reputation for market-leading events and corporate Hospitality, and one of the key strategic priorities of this function is to stay ‘ahead of the game’, with the accent on innovative events and the deployment of the latest technologies to achieve market-making results.
Role summary
The role of the business Events & Hospitality team is to ensure the efficiency and effectiveness of the firm’s business events and hospitality programme, and to ensure they support the strategic objectives of the UK firm.
The key objective for the Events & Hospitality Assistant is to support the management of KPMG’s hospitality assets (e.g., currently KPMG box at the O2 Arena). Regularly updating and maintaining accurate guest lists, developing and continuing a good working relationship with our trusted/preferred hospitality providers and suppliers. In addition, the Assistant may be asked to manage small projects, such as internal website updates or supporting on events.
The ideal individual for this role will be energetic and highly-organised, someone who enjoys taking on responsibility and making a positive contribution to the activities of the business Events & Hospitality team. You will have a personal interest in the events and hospitality industry.
Key functional aims of this role
- Responsible for managing the hospitality inbox and regularly updating and maintaining accurate guest lists
- Ensure all necessary hospitality materials, such as tickets, are sent to KPMG hosts within process timelines
- Database management guaranteeing all guest information is accurate and are listed on CRM
- Ordering catering and relaying dietary requirements as necessary
- Manage event follow up activities, including producing and analysing feedback and recommendations to improve future events
- Working with our trusted hospitality suppliers to support the business with ad hoc hospitality enquires
- Maintain client attendance data, ensuring it’s fed back into the firm’s CRM system
- Have an understanding of the business benefits of all events and memberships which the central team are involved with
- Understand the protocols associated with the UK Bribery Act and legislation associated with entertaining Audit and Non-Audit clients and targets to provide recommendations to the business on list of attendees
- Support the central team with planning and delivery of events and programmes. e.g., preparation of collateral for events, event specific inbox management
- Support events on-site as required
Candidate requirements
- The ideal candidate will be highly organised, able to multi-task and manage high volumes of work
- You will have a keen eye for detail, ensuring that all your projects are delivered to exceptional standards, adhere to the KPMG brand guidelines and on time
- A basic knowledge and understanding of the events and hospitality industry
- Must be able to prioritise workloads and communicate effectively
- Good team player, ready to help out colleagues for their events, while always managing own workload effectively
- Ability to understand and work to KPMG structure and business processes
- Good time management and able to work unsupervised
- Willingness to work out of hours, travel and stay away from home, if the role requires
- Good understanding in MS Office packages or willingness to learn
