Deal Advisory isone of the three practices within Advisory, consisting of: (i) mergers and acquisitions; (ii) debt and equity financing; (iii) restructuring; (iv) public and infrastructure finance; (v) valuations and fairness opinions; and (vi) transaction services.

Within Deal Advisory, KPMG Corporate Finance Inc. is the OSC regulated entity through which KPMG LLP\u0027s investment banking services are provided in Canada. KPMG\u0027s Corporate Finance services are principally comprised of merger, acquisition and divestiture advisory services and financing services including raising debt and equity capital.We offer independent financial advisory and investment banking services to both private and public companies. Acting independently of financing sources, we provide clients with pure, objective advice, focusing on strategies that can help meet corporate objectives. We have an extensive international network of over 2,600 corporate finance professionals working from 160 offices in 86 countries thus providing KPMG Corporate Finance with a broad local reach and established contacts.

We are seeking professionals at the Associate level to join our Calgary practice.

Role & Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

·  Participating in KPMG Corporate Finance's engagements, including divestiture, acquisition, debt/equity financing and financial analysis mandates.
·  Conducting detailed financial analysis on historical and projected financial results.
·  Performing financial modeling in Excel.
·  Conducting market and industry research, benchmarking analysis, compiling data on companies that are similar to our clients and perform relative market value analysis.
·  Assisting in the development of pitch, confidential information memorandum and other Corporate Finance documentation.
·  Analyzing the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats specific to a client and its sector in order to assess the risks inherent to the company's cash flows.
·  Participating in discussions and meetings with clients' top management.
·  Developing relationships with current and future clients. At times, business needs arise and employees are required and agree to work beyond their normal work day or work week to fulfill the accountabilities required for their job. Likewise, people need time to devote to personal matters, and our approach to flexibility provides for this.

Skills & Qualifications

The successful candidate will have the following skills, behaviours and experience:

·  Business degree with 1 to 5 years of relevant post-graduate experience acquired in accounting, corporate finance, investment banking, commercial/corporate banking, corporate development, research, private equity, corporate development, or other similar corporate finance role.
·  CPA, MBA, CFA, and/or CBV viewed positively.
·  Sound understanding of the factors driving the value of a company.
·  Solid grounding in financial modeling is essential.
·  Highly conversant with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Outlook).
·  Proficiency with Bloomberg and S&P Capital IQ, would be considered an asset.
·  Excellent critical, troubleshooting and analytical skills.
·  Excellent organizational skills and capacity to manage priorities.
·  Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
·  Ability to learn and succeed in a fast-paced environment.
·  Strong communication and presentation skills including writing and verbal skills.
·  A team spirit and great interpersonal skills.
·  Must be willing to travel within and across Canada.
