Job description

Transfer pricing is a key component of international tax. Transfer pricing rules address the pricing charged on related-party transactions, typically pertaining to the cross-border flow of goods, services or intangible property within a multinational group. Transfer pricing should be representative of arm's length pricing. However, governments and their tax authorities are concerned that improper transfer pricing practices can result in a misallocation of profits that artificially minimizes taxable income in certain countries.

Most modern tax authorities have laws, penalties and audit practices that guarantee them their fair share of tax, and taxpayers have noticed increased activity by tax authorities. A survey of multinationals showed that they not only viewed transfer pricing as the most important international tax issue for them, but they also considered it more important than all other tax issues combined. With market globalization, ongoing expansion of companies worldwide and the tax authorities' growing knowledge and aggressiveness on these matters, we consider transfer pricing to be the most significant and difficult tax issue for our clients.

In this capacity, you will work with and under the guidance of our talented Global Transfer Pricing team to assist our clients in addressing the various challenges that arise from conducting business internationally and complying with transfer pricing tax law. The work we offer to our clients includes transfer pricing analysis and planning, verbal and written communication of findings and recommendations, delivery of formal reports, defense against and negotiations with tax authorities, and more.

Responsibilities

·  Determine tax-compliant pricing for our clients' intercompany transactions.
·  Write reports and other related deliverables that involve documenting and analyzing clients' transfer pricing policies.
·  Help our clients undergoing transfer pricing audits by tax authorities.
·  Assist with negotiating agreements with multiple tax authorities on behalf of our clients that reduce or even eliminate the risk of audit for past and future tax periods.
·  Perform risk analysis of companies by reviewing their operations and identifying potential transfer pricing issues. At times, business needs arise and employees are required and agree to work beyond their normal work day or work week to fulfill the accountabilities required for their job. Likewise, people need time to devote to personal matters, and our approach to flexibility provides for this.

Skills & Qualifications

·  Completion of Bachelor of Economics, Communications, Political Science or a joint major of Economics and Finance.
·  Proven written communication skills are necessary.
·  Outgoing with strong interpersonal skills.
·  Ability to interact effectively in a professional manner with clients.
·  Comfortable managing multiple projects simultaneously.
·  Strong time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
·  Ability to work independently and within a team.
Applicants must include a cover letter, resume and post-secondary transcripts to be considered for this position.
