Job description

KONE's Global Spares Supply (GSS) ensures efficient warehousing and delivery of quality spare parts for all KONE elevators, escalators and automatic building doors. KONE also provides commercial replacement parts and components for a wide range of third-party equipment.  

We are now looking for an Inventory Planner to optimize service part inventories globally and to plan, coordinate and execute inbound material flow for GSS spare parts distribution centers.

The Inventory Planner ensures Global Spares Supply DCs have optimized availability of spare parts and other maintenance materials according to forecasts, ensuring maximum service performance for frontlines while balancing end to end supply chain costs.

The Inventory Planner works in Global Spares Supply Availability Management team located in Hyvinkää.

Main responsibilities

·  Planning maintenance business inventories to ensure spare part availability and to drive effective working capital utilization
·  Drive accurate forecasting process for spare parts and other maintenance materials
·  Optimizing GSS and Frontline spare parts inventories using multi-echelon planning principles
·  Monitoring exceptions and following up daily issues regarding availability management
·  Continuously optimize and balance stock levels, safety stocks, reorder points, order quantities and supply chain cost
·  Collaborate with GSS and Frontline stakeholders to ensure end customer needs are integrated to planning process
·  Monitors purchase requisitions and issues POs ensuring compliance with preferred/approved suppliers, correct material and supplier master data, as well as efficient ordering channels
·  Systematically communicates demand volume forecasts and changes to suppliers
·  Retrieves order confirmations, clarifies deviations and follows up POs
·  Ensures compliance with quality, safety and environmental standards

To be successful in this role, you should have:

·  Understanding of the end to end spare parts supply chain, ideally in after sales
·  Minimum of 3 years in supply chain operations role (demand and/or supply planning, purchasing) or equivalent education (e.g. industrial engineering, logistics, economics and business administration)
·  Data analytics skills, with strong excel and mathematical abilities
·  Operative purchasing and inventory planning experience
·  Ability to continuously balance and prioritize tasks to achieve service performance, inventory management and cost management performance targets
·  Collaborative & customer focused way of working
·  Fluent communication skills in English
·  Good interpersonal skills and team player attitude
·  MM SAP knowledge
·  Preferred experience working with Servigistics, Syncron, SAP APO solutions
·  VBA and SQL knowledge is an asset
