VIE - PURCHASING AND MATERIALS ANALYST H/F

Job description

The Purchasing and Materials team manages approx. $30M in inventory to support operations in the maintenance of locomotives, coach cars, track (MOW), signal and building operations. The analyst position provide assistance, and direction, to the purchasing and materials team leveraging data analysis (e.g. obsolete material analysis, slow moving material analysis, inventory turn analysis, cycle count analysis, purchasing data analysis, business process recommendations and implementation. Assist with system/process implementations such as barcoding, new part number creation, policies and procedures.
Key work activities include:
- Create and manage department KPIs and scorecards
- Manage vendor data with pricing agreements
- Pursue open orders with suppliers (past due) and manage supplier leadtime
- Assist with budget creation and analysis
- Produce weekly min/max inventory replenishment reports
- Improve IT tools and database for better efficiency
Create and manage part maintenance attribute fields such as:
- Lead-time
- Seasonal material
- Critical material
- Serialized material
- Warranty material
- Shelf life material
- Hazardous material
Required Skills /Qualifications:
- Excellent Excel and Power Point skills
- Excellent data analysis skills
- Ability to effectively communicate and explain/present data analysis to various groups
- Eagerness to learn
- Ability to navigate various software tools
- LEAN/Six Sigma/ISO experience a plus
- Qlik Sense experience a plus
- Must be flexible for work assignments (changing priorities), be a team player & creative thinker
- Fluent in English
