Job description
Location: Either Gaydon, Midlands or Dunton, Essex
JOB SPECIFICS
The CAE Test Engineering team delivers durability data to support durability CAE departments, system and component test areas.
- Instrumenting vehicles and proving ground to obtain measured road load data (RLD) creating data reports to summarise and archiving of data
- The archiving of data to the Corporate RLD
- Additional process development including arranging user guides and internal familiarisation for existing team members
- Supporting measurement campaigns
- Prototype build and update co-ordinator working with internal global teams
- Upfront Liaison between Engineering, Calibration, Fleet workshop, etc.
- Planning, scheduling and executing the builds and updates
- Coordinate dynamic Sign off of vehicles and ensure vehicles are safe and UK Road legal
QUALIFICATION
- Engineering Degree or equivalent in relevant discipline
- Basic knowledge of vehicle systems and the fundamental physics that influence their operation
- Knowledge of transducers used for instrumentation of vehicles to gain RLD
- Practical knowledge within MATLAB, Nsoft, LMS, Prosig or similar environment
- Fundamentals of vehicle instrumentation, strain gauges, accelerometers, load cells
- Data acquisition and/or manipulation of physical data
- Related engineering experience in mechanical durability (preferably vehicle based) Experience of automating tasks/processes with macros
- Analytical approach to problem solving and proactive delivery and commitment
- Proficient with MS Office: Excel, PowerPoint, Word; ability to manipulate and present data in meaningful ways according to the requirement
- Business fluency in English
