Beauty Assistant for Highly Reputable Freelance Journalist

  • Internship
  • London (Greater London)

Job description

The Boss: Kathleen Baird-Murray is a freelance journalist writing mostly about beauty and fashion for Vogue, the Financial Times and Town & Country, who also does commercial copywriting work for beauty brands and is in the very early stages of setting up a new beauty brand.

The set-up: Working from a home office based in Acton, an internship is available for a hard-working assistant who loves organised chaos - but can hopefully bring a bit more of the "organise" part of the equation to a busy and growing workload. Occasional PA, occasional researcher, you'll be part of something new and exciting, while at the same time learn about the mechanics of freelance journalism and copywriting. A great opportunity for someone looking for a nurturing environment, a good mentor, and the chance to learn from a well-known writer in the worlds of beauty and publishing.

What's required: A couple of days a week initially would be a good starting point, but there is scope for flexibility. Travel and lunch expenses paid.

NB: you won't be writing copy or articles, the work will mostly be administrative and research based.

Desired profile

An Arts related degree is great, but not essential. Social media skills are useful as there will be some website management required (uploading articles to keep it up to date etc). An interest in beauty - cosmetics, skincare, etc - is an advantage.

Not suitable for anyone with a cat allergy.

Make every future a success.
