Job description

A Senior RMS Engineer is required to join an innovative Aerospace and Defence company on Permanent basis that specialises in advanced products primarily for the Aerospace industry. The Senior RMS Engineer will provide technical expertise to support optimisation of systems and equipment reliability, maintainability and safety parameters. To provide systems that meet their safety objectives, that are reliable and which require minimum expenditure to support throughout its operational life.

Responsibilities of the Senior RMS Engineer

Conduct technical RMS work to support both mechanical and electronics equipment
Reliability, Maintainability, Safety and Testability
Prepare and review documentation including Reliability documentation, FMECAs, Provisioning (spares) documentation, Failure Catalogues, Testability documentation, Flight Safety, Analysis, Fault Tree Analysis, Hazard Analysis, Maintainability analysis
Liaise with internal and external customers and suppliers including
Demonstrates service excellence to both internal and external customers
Be able to review and understand external Technical Specifications as they apply to Reliability
Be able to review and understand Technical Drawings, Design Reports etc.
Be able to review and understand system schematic diagrams

Requirements and Experience of the Senior RMS Engineer

IEng/CEng accredited University degree in Aerospace Technology / Systems / Aeronautical / Aero-Mechanical Engineering or other relevant technical discipline with a strong Mechanical and/or Electrical Engineering content (essential)
Familiarity with RMS standards, e.g. MIL-HDBK, DEF-STAN and MIL-STAN, ARP4671 (desirable).
Good knowledge and understanding of mechanical and electrical principles (essential)
A knowledge of aircraft mechanical systems and equipment (desirable)
Familiarity of System development, ARP4754 (preferred)
Appreciation of ATA-32 Landing Gear System operations and environment (desirable)
Experience using DOOR's (desirable)
Working knowledge of PC's and Microsoft office suite at intermediate level (desirable)
Strong interpersonal and team-working skills with commercial awareness
Strong analytical skills, Good communication skills
A flexible approach to work and willingness to carry out special projects as assigned
Willing to travel and/or occasionally work onsite at customer/supplier facilities

Security Clearance will be required for this role due to the nature of the products involved.
