International Logistics Coordinator (J&J) — GMED European Distribution Organisation-00000WF5DescriptionIn 2005, Johnson & Johnson decided to reorganize its logistics and supply chain of finished goods for the Medical Devices & Diagnostics (MD&D) product portfolio. The objectives included the centralization of distribution and the standardization of order-to-cash, financial/accounting processes and reporting across nineteen countries. The supply chain across the different brands in this portfolio became centrally organized and a central new warehouse was built to replace different smaller European warehouses. Today this 20.000m² site is fully operational and supplies almost the entire world of the MD&D products. Per day 5000 sales orders are dealt with and shipped. This warehouse is located in Courcelles (Belgium) and is operated by GMED Healthcare BVBA.Today we are looking to enforce the International Logistic Department with an International Logistics Coordinator.
As the main J&J Distribution Centre in Europe for Worldwide supply of MD&D products, we provide our people with opportunities to work in a growing and international environment. The position would involve working as first point of contact with Customer Service groups; finance departments; IT; freight forwarders; Chamber of Commerce and Customs authorities.
Responsibilities of the role:
- Manage relationships with Affiliate / Export customer services located worldwide and CEVA shipping team (as 3PL) ensuring clear understanding of both teams' roles and responsibilities
- Oversee day to day activities ensuring deadlines and customer requirements are met
- Oversee pick slip creation and adherence to the shipping schedule
- Liaise with Transportation team and Freight Forwarders/Insurance Claims
- Work closely with the CEVA operations team for priority setting and special requests
- Align with relevant teams on recurrent distribution issues
- Drive the implementation of process improvements that enhance the service to the customer
- Oversee pre-shipment inspections / specific customer requirements
- Update and maintain all affiliate / export shipping instructions needed to ensure all customer requirements adhered to
- Ensure adequate training is provided of local systems i.e. JDE 8.12, XE, ABBRO, Presenter, Track and trace to all people involved on the CEVA shipping team
- Support the team to issue certificates from Chamber of Commerce, QA departments and Customs / Freight forwarders when required
- Ensure that the CEVA team is working within J&J compliance policies (HCC, FCPA, Sarbanes Oxley, Boycott and Embargo etc). Undertake local training responsibilities for CEVA and J&J personnel
- Ensure adequate communication between different internal suppliers
- IT, QA etc (internally) or other J&J organizations
- Ensure freight costs reconciled in timely manner
- Ensure correct documentation retained for legal and audit purposes
- Follow up on departmental measures
- Participate in forthcoming projectsQualifications
- Bachelor degree in logistics management, business management or equivalent
- Working experience in export/transportation/logistics environment
- Technical IT skills: Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Access, Visio), query tools (SQL)
- Fluency in English / French is a must, fluency in additional European languages is a plus
