The Scientist, Raw Materials Center will:
· Work independently to coordinate analytical qualification testing of new raw materials and ensure completion with the final permanent specification.
· Conduct routine testing for raw material using compendia and in-house methods using HPLC, GC and wet chemistry techniques like IR, Karl Fischer, pH, UV-Vis, Viscosity.
· Perform and coordinate Raw Material Qualifications for new and existing supplier/raw material and evaluate Supplier test methods.
· Raw Material Release for pilot and cGMP Batches for all three J&J internal sites (LAP, Lititz and Skillman).
· Document raw data in laboratory notebook as per applicable cGMP requirements and SOPs
· Review and authorize laboratory notebooks and LIMS data.
· Compile analytical qualification report upon completion of raw material qualification.
· Provide raw material analytical support across the region for global project.
· Resolve issues with raw materials/products and processes
· Identify improvement opportunities
· Prepare technical protocols, reports, and memos
· Participate in multi-functional teams to investigate problems, implement resolution, and develop optimized processes
· Support analytical investigations for raw material testing at various sites.
· Familiarity with lab software.
· Experienced working in cGMP environment.
· Communicate testing status and perform assigned analytical activities to support on-going projects.

Desired profile
· B.S with 0-3 years of professional experience required and/or M.S with 0-2 years of professional experience required.
· Understanding of cGMPs and current FDA Compliance requirements is preferred.
· Experience in formulation or manufacturing of consumer/pharmaceutical products is highly preferred.
· Experience with consumer products, such as skin care, skin cleansers, hair care, oral care, baby care and/or deodorant products is highly preferred.
· Excellent oral and written communication skills are required.
· MS Office (Word and Excel) proficiency and solid presentation skills are required.
· Ability to work cross-functionally in a team environment while being an individual contributor is required.
· Experience working with raw material suppliers or raw material manufacturing and testing is preferred.
· Experience managing projects is required.
· This position is required to be based in Skillman, NJ
