Job description

Janssen Research & Development, L.L.C., a Johnson & Johnson company, is recruiting a principal statistician to join the Manufacturing, Toxicology, and Applied Statistical Sciences (MTASS) team located in Beerse, Belgium, or Leiden, The Netherlands. The MTASS department is part of the Statistics & Decision Sciences(SDS) organization at Janssen. The successful candidate will contribute to statistical services in support of pharmaceutical development and manufacturing sciences.

Janssen R&D, part of the Janssen family of pharmaceutical companies within Johnson and Johnson (J&J), develops medicines to address unmet medical needs and improve the quality of life of patients worldwide. Research and development encompasses Therapeutic Areas (TA) focused on Immunology, Oncology, Infectious Diseases and Vaccines, Neuroscience, and Cardiovascular & Metabolic Diseases.

Responsibilities
· Provide statistical support in close interaction with scientists
· Design of experiments, data analysis and interpretation of results
· Communication and reporting of project work
· Ensure high-quality statistical methodology
· Manage multiple projects simultaneously
· Respect team procedures and timelines
· Build partnerships with client groups
· Serve as a statistical representative in pharmaceutical development programs
· Present statistical project work at internal/external scientific meetings Long-term development of technical and leadership skills

Desired profile

Qualifications :

·  Ph.D. in Statistics or related field, or Master's in Statistics or related field with commensurate years of relevant experience
·  Proficient in SAS or R programming
·  Good written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills
·  Fluency in English, both written and spoken
·  Ability to work autonomously and within a team environment
·  Knowledge of linear mixed models and multivariate analysis is required
·  Knowledge of experimental design methodology, nonlinear models, Bayesian statistics and generalized linear mixed models is desirable
·  Experience as a statistician in support of pharmaceutical development and manufacturing sciences is an asset
·  Travel up to 10% of the time
