Position Summary

A Pharmacy Account Manager is primarily responsible for delivery of commercial objectives within their targeted key territory and accounts by applying a category-driven and consultative selling approach in defining pharmacy customers' needs; with a view to generating mutual business development. This means achieving sales, distribution, recommendation, training and merchandising objectives across their territory and specifically the accounts with the greatest value and potential as defined by segmentation work; delivering Pharmacy 2020 strategy initiatives. Pharmacy account managers are also responsible for developing strategic partnerships with all key stakeholders who directly or indirectly influence the pharmacy sector. The role requires some cross functional working with Rx colleagues and National Account Teams so that further opportunities for growth can be identified

Planning for and executing activities to achieve sales and market share targets. Delivering distribution, recommendation, training and merchandising targets as set by the NFSM, which will achieve territory and company objectives.

Creating and developing annual business plans for key regional accounts within defined territories, focusing on delivering against the key initiatives from the Pharmacy 2020 strategy, such as Pharmagenius and Perfect Store. Identification and flawless execution of growth opportunities within territory and apportioning appropriate time to areas of highest potential

Targeting one day a week minimum for reviewing and updating business planning. Maintaining completing up-to-date Territory/Customer records, files, profiles, activities and promptly handling of all correspondence, and competitive feedback

Providing high quality product and category training sessions for pharmacy staff and commercial stakeholders within the target accounts objective, ensure the key staff within an account or Pharmacy are advocates for J&J brands, in particular key NPD and focus initiatives

Pre-selling and launching key NPD lines for J&J in individual territories, delivered through active training and research, and by following key brand-led guidelines to ensure flawless and timely launches of new initiatives

Using sales data (IMS) and targeting information provided by J&J to ensure sales and market share is maximised within target accounts defined through account segmentation

· Pharmacy account managers should have or been working towards a highly developed knowledge of the pharmacy sector including NHS commissioned services and NHS health care delivery. The Pharmacy Account manager should engage and influence key stakeholders within their territories to exploit commercial opportunities in OTC and NHS channels

· Proactively identify strengths and areas for development, agree a development plan with NFSM and through job learning and coaching, adopt and improve the skill sets and knowledge required to execute this role

· Develop plans within company commercial, legal and compliance policy for implementation with target accounts on selling, training and merchandising priorities relevant to Brands/Category activities.

· Attend key meetings, such Quarterly Sales, Company Launch and Annual Business Planning
· Actively uphold Johnson & Johnson values and leadership behaviours, whilst conducting themselves at all times with integrity in their business dealings and professional relationships.

Understands the external business environment including NHS policy and how it affects pharmacy sector. Has excellent knowledge of relevant categories and brands to add value to the regional and national customer strategy

Key Working Relationships

Internal

Work closely with the National Field Sales Manager to develop productive relationships with the aim of enhancing business performance. Also establish relationship and network with the Professional team, including Apodi leaders, to explore business opportunities in this arena

External

Regional Account relationships essential. There is also an expectation that over time you would establish links with both key contacts in Wholesale, as well as Professional bodies and key influencers in the channel (some facilitated by the NFSM)
