Summary
·  The Optical Tooling Insert Inspection Tech will provide incoming and outgoing inspection, and process support (i.e. laser engraving, order scheduling) for the Optical Tooling insert fabrication process.
·  Performs all work with adherence to safety procedures and GMP/ISO requirements.
·  Optical Tooling Metrology Equipment used: Zygo Interferometers, Toolmakers Microscope, Zygo VFA, Zygo NewView, Taylor-Hobson Talysurf
·  Communicates to appropriate optical tooling personnel the results of product testing in a timely manner to ensure high degree of product quality and integrity.
·  Assures that all data, findings, deviations and problems concerning yields and audits and/or inspection results are promptly and accurately recorded and communicated to CNC machinists, lead personnel, and Optical Tooling management
·  Completes record of inspection results, acceptance, rejection and disposition per SOPs
·  Identifies non-conformances, submits non-conformance forms for rejected materials/product and makes appropriate requests for internal and supplier corrective action in conjunction with the management team.
·  Assist engineering in product evaluation and testing as required.
·  Provide support for product and process compliance.
·  Facilitating the non-conformance resolution process (VIBES).
·  Ensuring operational compliance to FDA/GMP and ISO 9001 regulations.
·  Adheres to environmental policy and procedures and supports department environmental objectives.
·  Responsible for timely archiving of all inspections and completed job orders per policies and procedures.

Responsibilities
·  Perform visual inspections and measurement on tight tolerance (+/- 2 microns) optical inserts.
·  Compliance to all safety requirements
·  Maintain Insert quality and production efficiency
·  Assist with laser engraving of optical inserts
·  Works closely with Optical Tooling leads on the job scheduling process and closeout and filing of job orders
·  Performs other related duties as assigned by management

Desired profile

Qualifications

·  A minimum of a High School Diploma or GED is required
·  A minimum of 2 years of experience in a quality role is required
·  Ability to inspect precision machined parts is required
·  Proficient at Microsoft Word, Excel is required
·  Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal is required
·  The ability to prioritize projects and tasks is required
·  Good organizational skills are required
·  Ability to work in an empowered work team environment is required
·  Must be able to work on day or evening Mon-Fri or Continuous Operations and overtime as needed
·  Familiarity or ability to measure components using Metrology equipment Zygo (interferometers, VeriFire, VWA) and Taylor-Hobson Talysurf is preferred
·  Basic knowledge and familiarity with AutoCad and MasterCam is preferred
·  Able to read and interpret technical blueprints is required
