Torax Medical part of the Johnson & Johnson Family of Companies is recruiting for an Operator I - Assembly located in Shoreview, MN.

The Ethicon Surgical Care business offers a broad range of products, platforms and technologies—including sutures, surgical staplers, clip appliers, trocars and synthetic mesh devices—that are used in a wide variety of minimally invasive and open surgical procedures. Specialties include support for treatment of colorectal and thoracic conditions, women's health conditions, hernias, cancer and obesity. The Operator I - Assembly is responsible for assembling and/or producing products according to detailed manufacturing processes and is accountable for adhering to all quality and safety guidelines.

You will:

• Assemble various materials into subassemblies or finished products using appropriate tools and equipment, in accordance with approved manufacturing procedures.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation related to work in progress.
• Assist with in process quality checks on sub-assemblies and finished products.
• Advise production supervisor of line issues.
• Notify supervisor when tools or equipment need maintenance or repairs.
• Package and label product according to manufacturing specifications.

Desired profile

Qualifications :

• A minimum of a High School/Secondary Education or Equivalent is required, vocational or technical training preferred.
• A minimum of six (6) months of medical device manufacturing experience is a preferred.
• Knowledge of basic assembly equipment such as rulers, hand tools, fixtures and assembly equipment is required.
• The ability to work under a microscope for an extended period of time, handle small parts and materials and perform repetitive tasks is required.
• Basic Microsoft Office skills, utilizing Word and Excel is preferred.
• The ability to keep accurate records in relation to traceability is required.
• Must have the ability to read and comprehend processes & procedures in English.
• Basic math skills, strong interpersonal skills and good oral and written communication skills are required.
• The ability to work in a fast-pace in an emerging growth organization is required.
• Ability to be detail oriented, meet production expectations, and have the ability to be flexible to be perform a variety of manufacturing/production tasks is required.
• The successful candidate should be self-motivated and willing to go above and beyond.
• The ability to lift and/or move up to 35 pounds, walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; balance; stoop; talk and hear is required.
• This position is located in Shoreview, MN and requires a daily commute Monday - Friday for the 1st shift working hours of 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM with overtime, weekends and holidays as the business needs is required.
