Biosense Webster, Inc. a member of the Johnson & Johnson Family of Companies is hiring a New Product Development Process Engineer I in Irwindale, CA.

Atrial fibrillation (AFIB) is a quivering or irregular heartbeat (arrhythmia) that can lead to blood clots, stroke, heart failure and other heart-related complications. 20 million people around the world suffer from AFIB each year.

Biosense Webster, Inc. is the global leader in the science of diagnosing and treating heart rhythm disorders. The company established its leadership in electrophysiology with the development of the first real-time, 3D cardiac mapping and navigation technology, as well as the first electrophysiology catheter. The introduction of the company's CARTO® 3 System in 2009 revolutionized 3D mapping technology by increasing the accuracy, speed, and efficiency of the cardiac ablation procedure.

The New Product Development Process Engineer I identifies and develops internal areas of opportunities through the DMAIIC methodology and tools of Excellency in processes with the purpose of reducing the manufacturing cost of the new products prior to product launch and continue with the culture of continuous improvement comprehended in the strategy of Biosense Webster.

As a member of the Product Management Team, you will:

•Identifies, designs and develops the necessary equipment related to new product development.

•Performs material tests.

•Studies the existing processes to implement improvements on new products.

•Responsible for preparing and managing specifications.

•Assists technicians and engineers about unusual problems.

•Responsible for purchasing and designing equipment that meets safety and environment requirements.

•Performs activities of process/product validation.

•Responsible for communicating business related issues or opportunities to next management level

•Responsible for ensuring subordinates follow all Company guidelines related to Health, Safety and Environmental practices and that all resources needed to do so are available and in good condition

•Responsible for ensuring personal and Company compliance with all Federal, State, local and Company regulations, policies, and procedures

•Performs other duties assigned as needed

Desired profile

Qualifications

•Bachelor's degree or Equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or related engineering discipline is required

•1-2 years of experience or training/internships in an engineering environment or equivalent combination of education and experience required

•Ability to work in a clean-room setting required

•Ability to read blueprints required

•Experience with assembly of complex product required

•Experience with designing processes is preferred

•Knowledge of statistical analysis methods and DOE techniques required

•Ability to Travel 30% (international and domestic) is required
