The North America Communications & Public Affairs Leader, Ethicon Medical Devices sets and leads team responsible for creating and executing the Medical Device communication strategy across the North America region to enable growth.

Responsibilities:

• Creates comprehensive communication strategy for North America Communication and Public Affairs aligned with business priorities.

• Cultivates meaningful external relationships and partnerships outside of J&J, adding value and insights for the enterprise; insight-driven to proactively uncover critical unmet needs and turn them into new opportunities.

• Demonstrates and inspires the behaviors that reinforce Our Credo.

• Collaborates closely with MD Franchise and Stakeholder leads and GCPA centers of excellence to advance thought leadership programs, media opportunities and organizational/change communications, and manage product and platform issues in the region.

• Partners with Franchise communication to deliver narrative for multiple audiences.

• Aligns with and executes Enterprise employee engagement plan to fully inform and align employees of regional goals.

• Lead strategic communication of strategy and corporate messaging to region's sales teams.

• Manages team responsible for creating and executing proactive communication programs that drive health care professional awareness/loyalty and patient pull-through, while enhancing the reputation of our franchises, in collaboration with Medical Devices Stakeholder team.

• Serves on the US Leadership Team and provide senior business leader counsel.

• Effectively manages and leverages agencies, consultants and budgets.

• Manages team, develops talent and reinforces leading-edge communication practices.

Desired profile

Qualifications :

• Minimum of a Bachelor's degree is required

• Minimum of seven (7) years of experience in stakeholder communication or related field is required.

• Minimum of two (2) years of people leadership & development experience is required.

• Current or previous experience working in a global function with demonstrated understanding of issues and influences in healthcare is required.

• Demonstrated ability to counsel senior leaders is required.

• Current or previous experience managing multiple priorities in a matrixed environment with a demonstrated ability to drive results through influence management and sometimes amid ambiguity is required.

• High tolerance for change and pressure is required.

• High flexibility and a steady temperament is required.

• Ability to demonstrate expert judgment in critical decision making on issues impacting corporate reputation is required.

• Current or previous experience managing and leveraging agencies and consultants is preferred.

• Current or previous experience managing budgets of $500,000 or more is preferred.

• Demonstrated current or previous experience utilizing key problem-solving skill in developing communication strategies and actions is required.

• A high degree of personal initiative, as well as outstanding interpersonal, teamwork, listening, verbal, written communications and process facilitation skills are required.

• Current or previous experience influencing global teams is required.

• Exceptional verbal, interpersonal and written communication skills and the ability to deliver messages through an authentic voice is required.

• High degree of independent judgment and experience making decisions efficiently to support execution of plans is required.

• This position will be located in either Somerville, NJ or Cincinnati, OH and will require up to 30% of domestic and international travel
