The Manager, Health Economics & Outcomes Research (HECOR), Oncology, will be responsible for health economic and outcomes research activities in support of the value proposition for assigned product(s) or indication(s).
Key Responsibilities:
• Contribute to the development of data generation and dissemination strategies and tactics to support the Oncology business unit's HECOR strategic plan.
• Contribute to the design and manage the implementation of HECOR studies and to the development of models/tools, from concept through publication.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory, legal and commercial regulations (e.g., for contracting or promotional review) in conducting research and in the dissemination of scientific information.
• Partner with Medical Affairs on prospective observational studies or registries and provide input on the outcomes endpoints for Phase 3b & IV protocols and post-hoc analyses of clinical trial data.
• Represent HECOR on assigned cross-functional franchise teams, with internal partners such as HECOR colleagues, Marketing, Strategic Customer Group, Medical Affairs, Medical Science Liaisons, Worldwide Market Access and Strategic Marketing, Epidemiology, Government Affairs and Policy, and other J&J Operating Companies.
Desired profile
• A minimum of a Master's degree in Public Health, Health Services Research, Economics, Epidemiology, Health Policy, or a related discipline is required.
• A PhD, PharmD, MD or other relevant degree is preferred.
• A minimum of 1 year experience in Market Access or Health Economics and Outcomes Research (Fellowship experience included) is required.
• Exposure to outcomes-based strategies and tactics to meet commercial and scientific objectives is preferred.
• Prior experience within the Oncology Therapeutic area is preferred.
• Experience in conducting research studies applying health economics, patient-reported outcomes, retrospective and prospective data analyses, epidemiology OR health services research is required.
• Exposure to the use of pharmacoeconomic models is preferred.
• Working knowledge of the drug development and regulatory approval process is preferred.
• Working knowledge of United States health policy and health care system stakeholders (for example: managed care, public sector payers, emerging models of care) is preferred.
• Understanding of the uses of real world evidence and comparative effectiveness for health policy decision-making is preferred.
• Working knowledge of regulatory and commercial compliance issues relating to conducting research and disseminating of scientific information is preferred.
• Excellent skills in collaboration, influencing and communication (both written and presentation) are needed.
• This role will be located in Horsham, PA and will require up to 10% travel.
