Junior Medical Advisor – Solid Tumors
Territories : North England, East Midlands

Role responsibilities
Year 1
To be a therapeutic area scientific expert, responsible for discussing our products, patients'
treatment trends and studies in the therapeutic areas in which we are involved, on a peer-to-peer
basis with a defined audience of Leading Specialists (Physicians, Pharmacists, Hospital
Managers, Board Members of Scientific Societies, and other stakeholders) and to be considered a
trusted scientific counterpart and partner.
To maximize company product value through high scientific quality communication with Leading
Specialists on a peer-to-peer basis. Through activities in line with the Medical Affairs Plan, the
MSL is jointly responsible for the realization of short-term and long-term company goals.
Training to be ABPI Signatory
At least 60% time on territory
Year 2
Provide scientific support to internal and external customers in response to clinical interest.
Support the sharing of knowledge to internal stakeholders e.g. through provision of training to help
to ensure highest standards of brand/therapy expertise in customer facing teams
Provide insights to the UK MAF team
Final medical signatory for field base materials eg AM speaker meetings
Main responsibilities
THERAPY AREA: To keep abreast of medical and scientific knowledge . -40%
· Conduct literature searches, analyse clinical papers, attend conferences, courses and other such events to be aware of the latest scientific and clinical advances in relevant therapy areas.
· Monitor competitor promotional and scientific activities so as to understand their ongoing strategies, as well as to assess their compliance with the Code of Practice.
· Have good understanding of NHS issues affecting therapy area
· Understand how different data sources contribute to the overall evidence generation plan
CUSTOMER EXCELLENCE: Development and maintenance of a contact network with Leading Specialists. -25%
· Meet with customers and researchers on a regular basis through meetings, conferences etc., to
· Gather information and insights on therapy area (inc. Competitor landscape) and their medical and scientific needs
· Exchange disease area knowledge and opinions in order to understand the emerging opinions
· Increase the customers understanding of Janssen products and processes (eg. Clinical data, IIS, clinical trials, compliance processes), according to their expressed interests and needs and to seek their advice on the development of our products.
· Manage and maintain positive relationship with Key Opinion Leaders.
· Understand the needs in evidence generation to support ongoing requirements of therapy area and product
INTERNAL COLLABORATION:-25%
· Engage with L&D in order to deliver TA training
· Assist line manager with other general medical affairs & medical education projects as appropriate
· Support MSL's on some occasions to develop educational items (e.g. presentations) and deliver training for the business e.g new starters, on an ongoing basis
· Consult to the sales teams, for example by helping them to manage individual issues they may be facing, as well as by enhancing their understanding and application of company processes
EVIDENCE GENERATION
Support Medical Affairs evidence generation strategy, planning, design and execution in
close co-operation with GCO,CROs and other relevant CROs
· Attend local MAF team and cycle meetings to gain an understanding of CVT and MAF strategy for the therapy area, and the internal and external drivers of that strategy

Desired profile
Qualifications :
Experience and Qualifications
· Medic with qualification recognized by GMC
· Commercially astute with good communication skills.
· Prior experience working in the field of oncology/haematology preferred
· Prior Industry experience strongly preferred.
· A desire to succeed in the Medical Affairs environment.
· Strong team player with the ability to motivate others and succeed in a highly integrated group environment.
