Internship – Molecular Bioassay Development (m/f)

Department / project :
The Molecular Bioassay group is part of the Analytical Development (AD) group and is responsible for developing methods that are employed to analyze and characterize virus based vaccines. Product analysis includes tests for quantity, potency, purity, and identity, but also detailed structural characterization of vaccines.
We are looking for a motivated MSc student who is interested in doing an internship in a multidisciplinary team and is eager to work on development and optimization of molecular bioassays. The project focuses on development of a new QPCR based assay for measuring vaccine characteristics, possibly using liquid handling robot. For this project handling of biologically active substances is necessary. You will be supervised by an associate scientist and will be working in an international team. Furthermore you will be involved in daily activities within the MBA group, giving you the opportunity to learn about not only assay development but also vaccine development process in a multinational pharmaceutical company.

Desired profile

Minimum Qualifications:
We are looking for a Master student in the field of cell or molecular biology or other related area. Knowledge of (Q)PCR, ELISA and culturing cells is required. Our preference goes out to students who are willing to stay for at least 6 months.

Please note that you need a residence permit which states you are allowed to work in the Netherlands or a residence permit which states you are enrolled to a Dutch university if you want to apply for an internship at Janssen.
