LifeScan is a Johnson & Johnson company. LifeScan Scotland was created in 2001 when Johnson & Johnson acquired the UK assets of Inverness Medical Ltd, a medical device company established in Inverness in 1995 to design and manufacture glucose test strips, and design electronic meters for the global diabetes market.

With a focus on future development, LifeScan is committed to “creating a world without limits for people with diabetes.” Around 1,000 people are employed at the Inverness site, which is regarded as Johnson & Johnson's centre of excellence for diabetes and self-monitoring of blood glucose (SMBG).

The team at LifeScan Scotland designs all the products in the OneTouch® Brand of blood glucose monitoring systems (meters, test strips, control solutions, lancing devices and diabetes management software). The OneTouch® brand has two product families – Ultra® products, made from carbon technology, and Verio® products, made from precious metals technology. LifeScan Scotland is the primary OneTouch® test strip manufacturer for the global market.

We are currently recruiting for a Customer Quality: Data Systems Graduate to be based at our extensive site in Inverness.

This is a rotational program which could potentially include Customer Quality, focusing on development of infrastructure and analytics of large data, IT, Research & Development & Statistics

Role Description:

During your time on the Graduate rotation you will gain experience and knowledge in the following areas:

· How customer communications are dealt with by a global company that manufactures over 6 billion strips to derive safety signals and how we react to them.
· Experience with Global Health Authorities and their regulations for medical devices e.g FDA, MHRA etc
· EU Regulations that govern Medical Devices and In Vitro diagnostics are changing considerably, we want someone who will be help us design and implement a new system to be compliant and allow us to continue marketing our products in Europe
· A lifecycle understanding of Quality from Design and Development, through to Production/Manufacturing, and post-market quality: an insight into reactive and proactive product quality

Ideally the candidate will have either a computer science, science, or engineering with good experience and knowledge of IT systems and programable analytics. The candidate must have a passion for using the skills and knowledge gained on those degrees to enable us to turn the large volume of data we receive into insights to enable us to improve our Customers Experience.

The regulations and best practices covering Post Market Quality around the world are going through change so a strong ability to self-learn is important. The candidate must have a history of intellectual curiosity, a passion for asking ‘why'; why are we seeing the insights in our data? Prior work experience, hobbies and interests should be able to demonstrate this.

Qualifications :

Essential:

·  Degree in Computer Science, Science/Engineering, or Health-related
·  Self-motivator
·  Intellectual curiosity
·  Problem-solving skills
·  Ability to work well in a team and as an individual
·  Knowledge of IT Systems (aggregating data from databases)
·  The ability to relocate to Inverness, Scotland

Desirable:

·  Experience or passion for programable data analytics (examples include but not limited to R Studio, SAS etc.)
