The Biosense Webster Field Service Engineer is responsible to manage the customer support system in the installation, service and repair of all products supported by Biosense Webster, Inc. Responsibilities include: managing the Account Schedule and performing the installation, operation, repair and modification of equipment within assigned territory, managing region and schedule to facilitate all aspects of technical / engineering work required to support all products supported and serviced by the Biosense Webster technical department, responding to customer requests for emergency service and determining cause(s), troubleshooting and taking corrective action.

The Field Service Engineer provides guidance to Customers to include Doctors, Nurses, and hospital Biomedical engineers along with Field Service Specialist's and/or Representatives, and assist's when customer satisfaction issues arise, devises and implements preventive maintenance programs and maintains performance and service records for equipment. The position advises and assists in affecting design changes to improve equipment efficiency and/or reduce cost of operation, devises project plans for the installation-planning phase of new equipment and manages customer expectations on a regular basis before & after various interaction to insure customer satisfaction. The Field Service Engineer completes all activities within the Service Management System through daily updates and documentation and assists in the processing of RMA returns. The position is located in Chicago and requires up to 70% travel.

Desired profile

Qualifications :

It is required of the Field Service Engineer to possess a minimum of an Associate's Degree with a minimum of 3 years of work experience. It is also required to possess two years experience in field related service business relating to technical support or field related service. It is preferred the successful candidate has a Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in one of the following: Electrical Engineering (similar discipline) or Computer Science, Microsoft A+ Certification or equivalent computer hardware certification, MCP Certification or equivalent. It is required to possess effective verbal and written communication skills, organizational skills, PC proficiency, knowledge of service management systems and knowledge of Microsoft Office applications to include: Word, Excel, and Access. It is also required to have experience with standard test equipment to include: Oscilloscope and Digital Volt Meter (DVM). The Field Service Engineer position requires the ability to lift 80 lbs to a height of four feet, operate company vehicle and frequent airline travel. The position is located in Chicago and requires up to 70% travel.
