Johnson & Johnson announced that it has received a binding offer from Fortive Corporation to acquire Advanced Sterilization Products (ASP). If the offer is accepted, the proposed transaction would be expected to close no later than early 2019, subject to customary closing conditions and regulatory approvals. Should you receive and accept an offer for this position, upon completion of the transaction, your employment with ASP will transfer to Fortive according to local law and will be governed by Fortive's employment processes, programs, policies and benefits plans.
The Biochemist, Technical Business Solutions will be supporting projects related to the development, implementation and use of ASP products and technologies for reprocessing medical devices.
This Technical Business Solutions team represents the external-facing arm of R&D with deep product and technology expertise. The responsibilities of this team include:
· Customer problem-solving requiring technology/product expertise
· Device qualifications for reprocessing in ASP systems
· Standards development related to the ASP business
· Planning and execution of competitive studies/testing
· Field training on new products/technology
· External technical presentations/publications
· Development of deep expertise on customer practices for translation into new product concepts
Key Responsibilities:
· Execute Technical Business Solution deliverables in conjunction with business and medical device manufacturing partners to achieve the business objectives of the company
· Work in small R&D teams focused on qualifying medical devices in support of production commercialization for medical device reprocessing and infection control projects
· Conduct research, analysis or processes within a larger R&D activity, including device qualifications for reprocessing in ASP systems, to support projects related to ASP's high level disinfection technology platform
· Participate in developing and implementing R&D procedures for reporting and operations working with cross functional teams
· Work in teams focused on identifying and implementing process level efficiencies
Desired profile
Qualifications
· B.S. in Biochemistry or closely related field with a minimum of 3 years of applicable professional experience or M.S. in Biochemistry or closely related field with a minimum of 1 year of applicable professional experience is required
· Knowledge of sterilization, disinfection and cleaning technologies is required
· Professional experience in a GxP-regulated industry and understanding of QSR, FDA, and ISO guidelines is required
· Working experience with sterilants and disinfectants is preferred
· Demonstrated experience working with medical washer-disinfector intended for the cleaning and high level disinfection of medical devices is preferred
· Demonstrated experience in qualifying medical devices for reprocessing in medical washer-disinfectors is preferred
· Working knowledge of designs and features of medical devices, specifically flexible endoscopes reprocessed in medical washer-disinfectors is preferred
· Understanding of medical device compatibility with high level disinfection processes is preferred
· The successful candidate must be self-driven, have strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills, and capable of working independently or in a team
