Under in-direct supervision associates are responsible for processing sterile suture products through the BC/SAB equipment as per process specifications. Focused on ensuring maximum efficiency from machine, ensuring maximum machine utilization, and minimum departmental nonproductive time.

The BC Operator L1 responsibilities include:

• Daily, weekly, and/or monthly reporting of all department operations.

• Associates are also responsible for the loading and unloading suture products from Non-CFC sterilization.

• Responsible for performing a variety of assignments in accordance to prescribed procedures and specifications relating to the process or equipment.

• Perform adjustments and tooling changes as needed.

• Comply with packaging requirements ensuring packaging of product-by-product type and verification of documentation.

• Transfer packaged products to the In Test and/or Hot Room (if applicable).

• Complete required documentation.

• Comply with safety regulations and procedures.

• Maintain a clean and well-organized work area to enhance efficiency.

• Do any other work related tasks to achieve production goals.

• Associate must be able to support 24 hour, 7 day a week manufacturing operation, with the ability to work 12-hour shifts.

• Associates are held accountable for production efficiencies, strict compliance with process specifications, and company standards of behavior.

• Accurate record keeping via computer management systems and/or via manual systems by inputting and retrieving data for production, maintenance, and other pertinent permanent paperwork following standard procedures.

• Enters required data on production books and/or other pertinent paperwork.

• Ability to receive and properly store dispenser boxes issued for production orders.

• Staging of product by product type and equipment

• Pick up full carts/pallets from Non-CFC and transports product to the BC area. Requires continuous handling of both empty and full magazines.

• Transfer of empty carts to foil area.

• Provide limited mechanical support for machines to include minor adjustments and troubleshooting.

• Operator Asset Care

• Ensures departmental practices, work areas, and equipment is kept in a safe and orderly fashion.

• Does any other work of a related nature and performs other work related duties as assigned.

• Follow current compliance regulations and standards.

• Works in accordance with ISO 14001 principles and environmental regulatory compliance requirements. Works in accordance with Ethicon environmental policies and procedures.

• Must have good work habits (neatness, organizational skills, time management skills, etc.).

• Satisfactory completion of annual certified production operator assessment.

• Attend required Environmental Training

• Must successfully be trained on use of an electric and/or manual pallet jack.

• Associate must be responsible for all process changes for which training was provided.

• Must be proficient in English language

• Understanding of process specifications

•Computer functions as required

• Read, interpret and follow work instructions and training materials.

• Pass and maintain training and certification examinations as required.

• Assess and input data into departmental/ plant information systems.

• Strong interpersonal skills

• Ability to work and communicate well with others

• Ability to give and understand instructions, both verbal and written.

• Must be willing to work as a member of a team.

• Must be will to accept change and additional responsibilities and training associated with change.

Qualifications

A minimum of a High School diploma, G.E.D. or equivalent required.

•Experience working in a manufacturing environment required.

•Experience working in a Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) or other regulated environment preferred.

•Must be able to work 12 hour night rotational shift (6:30am – 6:30pm) which will include alternating weekends.

•The ability to work occasional overtime, weekends and some holidays as needed by business is required.

•Must achieve a passing score on all Ethicon WorkKeys modules.
