Job description

Main Responsibilities:

The Associate Director of Global Packaging Validation:
· Manages the approach, strategy, and execution of Packaging validation across Consumer, in alignment with Director Global Consumer Validation directives, to ensure consistent, compliant, and efficient performance and continuous improvement consistent with established and evolving regulatory and company requirements.
· For the specific technological area of competence, he/she is the OWNER of the Packaging Validation program, validation execution and performance, on-going monitoring of validated state and associated metrics, developing and implementing efficient and compliant validation processes and standards, CONTRIBUTES to validation and qualification discussions in adjacent areas, Designs and Develops validation and qualification policies, procedures, programs related to processes (including cleaning, methods...), equipment and automated systems where applicable.
· Maintains up to date knowledge of the industry and regulatory trends related to all aspects of validation as well as product knowledge. Ensures adequate and trained SME coverage for validation-related questions during internal and external audits.
· Owns the development and continuous optimization of JJFCC Consumer Packaging Validation program challenging the status quo and to radically rethink and improve approaches to validation execution based upon a risk management approach. Responsible for ensuring staff executes consistent, efficient, timely, and compliant Packaging Validation to support product launches, projects, and meet business objectives.
· Serves as the validation expert on the team and provides validation oversight and guidance. Responsible for communicating and elevating critical business related issues, as well as opportunities to senior management.
· Manages companywide validation programs (VMP) and provides guidance and expertise to project teams for all validations. He/she is active part in definition, promotion and organization of required training activities related to different validation areas. Participates in establishing key performance metrics to evaluate validation efficiency.
· Establishes functional operational budget for their area of responsibility at a global level as well as the specific geographical area of responsibility.
· Owns and tracks the technology budget needed (Global Leader) to ensure there are enough resources globally to support what each region needs to execute at regional level.
· Performs work in compliance with GMP and Compliance standards for activities where applicable. Contributes to the department and company objectives while respecting corporate procedures governing the employment relationship and ethical conduct principles.
· Contributes to the improvement of the quality of the work environment by promoting and encouraging actions consistent with the Corporate Credo.
· Actively contributes to professional development of the team and achieving goals.

At the Regional level, this position has a greater degree of impact on the business results and will have responsibility for managing a group of professionals.

· Has direct responsibility to deploy the globally defined standards within each region (Americas, EMEA, APAC).
· He/she is accountable for regional validation programs (VMP) and provides guidance and expertise to project teams for all validations within the technology.
· This organization will conduct validations of packaging processes and packaging lines through the drafting of the relevant protocols, verification of the execution of all necessary actions, collection of all relevant documents and the drafting of the final report, management for validation execution in all aspects identified in the specific roles and responsibilities matrixes.
· Establishes and ensures the rigor of testing performed during all qualification/validation activities to be consistent with International and local applicable Authorities as well as Company requirements.
· The Associate Director of Global Packaging Validation, also has people responsibility for all validation resources of the organization. This includes setting goals and objectives, performance and development management and any other aspects related directly to people management responsibilities.
· Within the respective technology (Packaging validation) he/she owns the budget for the full regional groups having direct line responsibility for resources and execution according with regional business and finance processes. Control and guarantee to the containment of departmental costs and budget expectations.
· Monitors departmental validation activities to ensure that subordinates follow all company guidelines related to Health, Safety and Environmental practices and that all resources needed to do so.
· Ensures the GTO specific organization actively collaborates with regional production departments, GME, SMP, QA and QC to ensure completion of validation activities in the required standard and time.
· He/she acts as Subject Matter Expert in critical investigation of packaging validation issues and supports People/Resource planning and prioritization.
· Contributes to the improvement and optimization of business processes.
· Defines and implements PE projects and CIP projects.

Desired profile

Qualifications :

Minimum Qualifications:
·  A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree is required; Engineering major is preferred.
·  Must have at least eight (8) years of work experience; with two (2) years in performing process, packaging and/or other validation in a regulated environment.
·  Three (3) years of experience managing cross-functional expertise (R&D, SMP, Validation, Franchise Marketing, Packaging development, Procurement) and team dynamics is required.
·  At least three (3) years of Project Management experience is required.
·  Must have experience with new product development processes and terminology.
·  Consumer Product knowledge is highly preferred.
·  Broad business acumen with knowledge of finance related projects is required.
·  Project Management Professional (PPM) or equivalent is highly preferred.
·  Knowledgeable in Microsoft Office software application such as; Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook is required.
·  This position could be located in any Consumer Manufacturing site within the following regions; Unites States, Latin America, Asia Pacific and Europe/Middle East/Africa.
·  This role may require up to 25% domestic and international travel.
